Quebec Autoroute 25
Autoroute 25 (or A-25, also called Autoroute Louis-H.-La Fontaine in Montreal) is an Autoroute in the Lanaudière region of Quebec. It is currently long and services the direct north of Montreal's Metropolitan Area. A-25 has one toll bridge, which is the first modern toll in the Montreal area and one of two overall in Quebec (after being joined by the A-30 toll bridge, which opened in 2012). A-25 begins at an interchange with A-20 and Route 132 in Longueuil and quickly enters the Louis Hippolyte Lafontaine Bridge-Tunnel into the east end of Montreal. It is the main north-south freeway in the east end of Montreal (actually northwest-southeast but perpendicular to the St. Lawrence River). Before the Montreal-Laval Extension, a gap existed in A-25 north of the interchange with Autoroute 40. Quebec Route 117
Route 117, the Trans Canada Highway Northern Route, is a provincial highway within the Canadian province of Quebec, running between Montreal and the Quebec/Ontario border where it continues as Highway 66 east of McGarry, Ontario. It is an important road since it is the only direct route between southern Quebec and the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region. Route 117 was formerly Route 11 and ran from Montreal north towards Mont-Laurier and then followed the Gatineau River south towards Gatineau. This routing is joined with Autoroute 15 from Montreal northwards towards Mont Tremblant. Route 117 also takes in the former Quebec Routes 58 and 59. Along with Autoroute 15 to Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, it is also listed as a branch of the Trans-Canada Highway. Sainte-Rose, Quebec
Sainte-Rose is a district in Laval, Quebec. It was incorporated as a village in 1850, and was a separate town until the municipal mergers on August 6, 1965 which amalgamated all the municipalities on Île Jésus into a single City of Laval. Ste-Rose is best known for the parish church, erected 1740, which contains a Casavant Frères organ and hosts numerous concerts every year, and for "Vieux Ste-Rose", an area known for its old houses and its restaurants. Other districts that are also part of Sainte-Rose are Champenois (located between Boulevard Curé-Labelle and Autoroute 15, to the west of "Vieux Ste-Rose") and Champfleury, also known as Des Oiseaux (after the name of the district's main thoroughfare), to the south, near the border with Chomedey. Exo, officially known as Réseau de transport métropolitain (RTM; en, Metropolitan Transportation Network), is a public transport system in Greater Montreal, including the Island of Montreal, Laval (Île Jésus), and communities along both the North Shore of the Mille Îles River and the South Shore of the St. Lawrence River. Bois-des-Filion is an off-island suburb of Montreal, located in Quebec, Canada, to the north of Montreal. Historically, hundreds of families annually travelled to this region seasonally to experience the magnificent maple forests; however the tourist industry is currently a minor source of income for the city. The primary language spoken by its citizens is French, and the primary source of employment is general manufacturing. Origin of the name The name ''Filion'' is derived from the surname of Antoine Feuillon, a local carpenter who could neither read nor write, and thus was unable to correct any errors in the spelling of his name as the first records were kept. Auteuil, Quebec
Auteuil is a district of Laval in Quebec, Canada. It is delimited in the north-west by the Rivière des Mille-Îles, north-east by Saint-François, south-east by Duvernay, south by Vimont and south-west by Sainte-Rose. History Auteuil corresponds roughly to the former territory of ''Sainte-Rose-Est Parish''. At its creation in 1740 the parish of Sainte-Rose-de-Lima covered almost the entire north-west of the ''Île Jésus''. Its first church was located on the eastern boundary of the old city of Auteuil, on the banks of the Mille Îles River near Rue Descartes and Rue Debien. The church was destroyed by fire and, because of a controversy over its location between Monseigneur Briand and the parishioners worship was interrupted. Rebuilt in 1788, it was relocated 6.7 km south-west of the old site. On 1 January 1858, the village of Sainte-Rose corporation detached itself and formed a separate municipality (see Sainte-Rose).
