Javier Iturriaga Del Campo
Javier Eduardo Iturriaga del Campo (born 26 October 1965) is a Chilean military general. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in military science and a master's degree in the same area with a major in planning and strategic management from Chilean Army War Academy. He is known for having been appointed Chief for National Defense of Santiago Metropolitan Region by President Sebastián Piñera during the state of emergency that he decreted in 2019–20 riots famously known as Estallido Social de Chile. Erasmo Escala
Erasmo Escala Arriagada (June 2, 1826 – March 3, 1884) was a Chilean soldier who served as commander-in-chief of the army during part of the War of the Pacific. He was born in Valparaíso, where he also completed his first studies. He joined the Military Academy in 1837. He participated in the battle of Yungay, during the war against the Peru-Bolivian Confederacy, and later in the Pacification of the Araucanía. During the battle of Loncomilla, in the 1851 revolution, he was injured and lost one of his arms. General Escala was already a veteran when on July 18, 1879, during the War of the Pacific, was called by Domingo Santa María, principal minister of President Aníbal Pinto, to assume command of the army in replacement of General Justo Arteaga, who had just resigned due to political in-fighting. Óscar Izurieta Molina
Óscar Izurieta Molina (October 24, 1909 – August 17, 1990) was a Chilean military man. Molina had the grade of General of the Army and was Commander in Chief of the Army of Chile from November 14, 1958, to November 3, 1964. He is the father of former commander in chief, General Oscar Izurieta Ferrer and was the first commander in chief who used the name of Army General as Commander in Chief. His father was Ricardo Izurieta Torres, a Spanish immigrant originally from Ortigosa de Cameros, La Rioja, Spain, who arrived in Chile during the first decade of the twentieth century. Division General Pedro Pablo Dartnell Encina (December 24, 1873 – September 26, 1944) was a Chilean military officer and member of the Government Junta of Chile in 1925. Early life Dartnell was born in the city of Linares in 1873, the son of Robert Loder Dartnell and of Carmen Encina Ibáñez. He studied engineering at the Universidad de Chile, specializing in military engineering. In 1885 he was accepted as an Officer Cadet to the Military Academy, where he studied until 1891. Luis Altamirano Talavera (July 5, 1867 – July 25, 1938) was a Chilean military officer, minister, Vice President of the Republic and finally president of the Government Junta of Chile between 1924 and 1925. Adolfo Holley Urzúa (born in Talca; 1833—11 November 1914) was a Chilean general who served in the War of the Pacific and in the 1891 Chilean Civil War and held posts in the resulting government. Holley embarked upon his military career in the Occupation of the Araucanía in the Arauco War. At the start of the War of the Pacific, he was commissioned as second in command of the regiment ''Esmeralda'' when it was created after the division of the older ''Carampangue'' in May 1879.
