List Of Closed Perth Railway Stations
This is a list of stations that have been closed since the building of railways in metropolitan Perth, Western Australia. Mundaring Line In some cases there are stations that were so effectively removed that there are no traces left, such as Bellevue. However, at Mundaring and Darlington, concrete platform edges remain. Although Mundaring Branch Railway stations were closed in 1954, it was not until the 1960s that the line was formally closed, and the line and stations removed after that. Metropolitan lines The lines to Karragullen along the Upper Darling Range Railway, and to Chidlow (via Parkerville or Mundaring), were considered to be part of the metropolitan service by the Western Australian Government Railways administration at the time they were operating. Perth
Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. It is the fourth most populous city in Australia and Oceania, with a population of 2.1 million (80% of the state) living in Greater Perth in 2020. Belmont Railway Station, Perth
Redcliffe railway station (officially Redcliffe Station) is a station for underground commuter rail services in Redcliffe, east of Perth, Western Australia. The station is one of three stations that were built as part of the Forrestfield–Airport Link project and is served by Transperth's Airport line services. The contract for the Forrestfield–Airport Link, which consists of of twin bored tunnels and three new stations, was awarded to Salini Impregilo and NRW Pty Ltd in April 2016. Construction on Redcliffe station began. Forward works, which included the permanent closure of Brearley Avenue between Great Eastern Highway and Dunreath Drive, began in 2016. Construction began in mid-2017, and by June 2018, excavation was complete. The two tunnel boring machines (TBMs) reached the station in mid-2019, having tunnelled from High Wycombe, and left tunnelling towards Bayswater after several weeks of maintenance. ''The West Australian'' is the only locally edited daily newspaper published in Perth, Western Australia. It is owned by Seven West Media (SWM), as is the state's other major newspaper, ''The Sunday Times''. The ''Daily News'', historically a successor of ''The Inquirer'' and ''The Inquirer and Commercial News'', was an afternoon daily English language newspaper published in Perth, Western Australia, from 1882 to 1990, though its origin is traceable from 1840. The Swan River () is a river in the south west of Western Australia. The river runs through the metropolitan area of Perth, Western Australia's capital and largest city. Course of river The Swan River estuary flows through the city of Perth. Its lower reaches are relatively wide and deep, with few constrictions, while the upper reaches are usually quite narrow and shallow. The Swan River drains the Avon and coastal plain catchments, which have a total area of about . It has three major tributaries, the Avon River, Canning River and Helena River. A freeze-dried canned product, such as canned dried lentils, could last as long as 30 years in an edible state.
