Deukhuri ( ne, देउखुरी) also known as Deukhuri Valley is a proposed permanent capital of Lumbini Province in Nepal which was decided on 20th of Aswin 2077 BS (October 6, 2020 AD). The temporary capital of Lumbini is in Butwal (Rupandehi District). The Dekhuri territory will be formed in the inner terai part of Dang Valley. The capital city will be formed by combining Rapti Rural Municipality, Gadhawa Rural Municipality and Sitaganga Municipality. The three local level unit currently lies in two different district, i.e. Dang and Arghakhanchi District. The planned city is located on the bank of Rapti River. Butwal ( ne, बुटवल), officially Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City ( ne, बुटवल उपमहानगरपालिका), is a sub-metropolitan city and economic hub in Lumbini Province in West Nepal. Hetauda
Hetauda ( ne, हेटौडा, ) is a sub-metropolitan city in the Makwanpur District of Bagmati Province in central Nepal. It is the administrative headquarters of the Makwanpur District and the capital of Bagmati Province as declared by majority (105 out of 110) Provincial Assembly Members on 12 January 2020. Lumbini Province ( ne, लुम्बिनी प्रदेश, Lumbinī pradēśa) is a province in western Nepal. It borders Gandaki Province and Karnali Province to the north, Sudurpashchim Province to the west, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar of India to the south. Cities and towns in Nepal are incorporated under municipality. A municipality in Nepal is a sub-unit of a district. The Government of Nepal has set-out a minimum criteria for municipalities. These criteria include a certain population, infrastructure and revenues. Presently, there are 293 municipalities in Nepal among which 6 are metropolis, 11 are sub-metropolis and 276 are municipal councils. Other than that there are 460 rural municipalities totaling 753 local level government within Nepal. Kathmandu, the capital, is also the largest city.
