Gwangju
Gwangju () is South Korea's sixth-largest metropolis. It is a designated metropolitan city under the direct control of the central government's Home Minister. Hoengseong County is a county in Gangwon Province, South Korea. The roots of ''Codonopsis lanceolata'' ( ko, deodeok, script=Latn), a bonnet bellflower species, play an important role in local agriculture. The Korean Minjok Leadership Academy, a notable boarding school, is located in the county. A county located in the southwestern part of Gangwon-do. Wonju Airport is an airport in Hoengseong County, Gangwon Province, South Korea, Gangwon province, South Korea . During the Korean War it was designated K-46 (Hoengseong Air Base) by the United States Air Force. In 2011, 70,943 passengers used the airport, which is mainly for military use. Only one parking position is large enough for a Boeing 737 Next Generation, Boeing 737-900. The airport has a daily scheduled flight two times, currently operated by Jin Air to Jeju. Pohang () is a city in the province of North Gyeongsang, South Korea, and a main seaport in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region. Pohang Gyeongju Airport is an airport in Pohang, South Korea . In 2011, 255,227 passengers used the airport. History Pohang Airfield was originally developed during the Japanese Imperial period. Korean war In early July 1950 Pohang airfield was identified as a potential base for USAF operations. On 7 July, Brigadier-General Timberlake deputy-commander of the Fifth Air Force ordered the development of the base. Company A 802nd Engineer Aviation Battalion landed at Pohang and began improving the airfield on 12 July by added a PSP extension and building hardstands for 27 F-51 Mustangs. The airfield was designated by the USAF as K-3. Troops of the Korean People's Army (KPA) 12th Division infiltrated the Pohang area in early August and made guerilla attacks against the airfield. Sacheon
Sacheon () is a city in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. Sacheon's chief fame comes from its being the site of two naval battles in the Seven Year War. The city as it now exists results from the merging of Sacheon-gun and Samcheonpo-si in 1995. The northern part of the city is called Sacheon-eub and is located at the top of Sacheon Bay, near the city of Jinju. Muan International Airport () is an airport in Muan County, Jeollanam-do, South Korea. Construction of the airport began in 1997 and the airport opened on November 9, 2007. The airport serves the province of Jeollanam-do, especially the cities of Gwangju, Mokpo and Naju. It replaced the nearby Mokpo Airport and is expected to replace the nearby Gwangju Airport in the near future as well. In 2018, 543,247 passengers used the airport.
