This is a list of bridges and tunnels on the National Register of Historic Places in the U.S. state of Colorado. Studies of Colorado's historic bridges, to assess which ones could qualify for National Register listing, were conducted in 1983, 1987, 2000, and 2011. The latter study evaluated "712 bridges and grade separations" which had been built during 1959 to 1968. Idaho Springs, Colorado
The City of Idaho Springs is the Statutory City that is the most populous municipality in Clear Creek County, Colorado, United States. Idaho Springs is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,717. Idaho Springs is located in Clear Creek Canyon, in the mountains upstream from Golden, some west of Denver. Founded in 1859 by prospectors during the early days of the Pike's Peak Gold Rush, the town was at the center of the region's mining district throughout the late nineteenth century. Black Squirrel Creek Bridge
The Black Squirrel Creek Bridge carries U.S. Route 24 in Colorado, U.S. 24 over Black Squirrel Creek (eastern El Paso County), Black Squirrel Creek in El Paso County, Colorado. Prior to 2012, it was locally known as the "green bridge" or "old green bridge"—a historic single-span, Parker truss, Parker through truss bridge that was completed in 1935 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. Because it no longer met highway safety standards, the bridge was dismantled and replaced by a newer span in 2012. History In the 1930s, the road in El Paso County (which would become U.S. 24) underwent major reconstruction, including the addition of several new bridges. The Town of Buena Vista (BEW-na Vista) is a Statutory Town located in Chaffee County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 2,855 at the 2020 United States Census. History The Arkansas River Valley and the area of what would become Buena Vista was first settled in 1864 by settlers drawn to the area by the plentiful water which made the land suitable for agriculture. By 1880, the county seat had moved from Granite to Buena Vista, but by 1928 Salida had a larger population so the county seat was moved once again. By 1894, Buena Vista had electricity, telephone service, street lights, parks, cemeteries, and schools.
