Hedley (band)
Hedley was a Canadian pop rock group that originated in Abbotsford, British Columbia, originally formed in 2003. They were named after the unincorporated community of Hedley, British Columbia, a name chosen after members heard that it was for sale for $346,000. After lead singer Jacob Hoggard placed third on the second season of '' Canadian Idol'' in 2004, the group signed with Universal Music Canada and released their self-titled debut studio album the following year. After signing an international recording contract with Capitol Records in 2006, which brought them an increased American following. Hedley saw commercial success with their subsequent studio albums, including '' Famous Last Words'' (2007), ''The Show Must Go'' (2009), '' Storms'' (2011), '' Wild Life'' (2013), '' Hello'' (2015) and '' Cageless'' (2017). Ginger (band)
Ginger was a Canadian rock band in the 1990s. The band was formed by members of the band The Grapes of Wrath, which broke up when Kevin Kane left. The band released four singles and two albums. History Singer/guitarist/bassist Tom Hooper, drummer Chris Hooper and keyboardist Vincent Jones continued to play together after the departure of Kevin Kane from their earlier band The Grapes of Wrath. With the Grapes of Wrath name and song catalogue tied up in legal wrangling between Kane and the remainder of the band, Jones and the Hooper brothers adopted the name Ginger. page=? Soul Decision
soulDecision was a Canadian pop band active from 1993 to 2005. They are best known for the single, " Faded", which hit number-one in Canada in 2000, and " Ooh It's Kinda Crazy" which became a hit as well the following year in early 2001. Career The group was formed in Vancouver, British Columbia under the original name 'Indecision' by singer and multi-instrumentalist Trevor Guthrie, singer David Bowman, and keyboard player Ken Lewko, who were studying music together at Capilano College. Before signing a record deal, they released a couple of singles that received national top 40 radio airplay. The success of those singles led them to a record deal with Universal Music. Devin Garrett Townsend (born May 5, 1972) is a Canadian singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. He founded extreme metal band Strapping Young Lad and was its primary songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist from 1994 to 2007. He has also had an extensive solo career and has released a total of 28 albums across all of his projects as of 2022. After performing in a number of heavy metal bands in high school, Townsend was discovered in 1993 by a record label who asked him to perform lead vocals on Steve Vai's album '' Sex & Religion''. After recording and touring with Vai, he was discouraged by what he found in the music industry and vented his anger on his 1995 solo album '' Heavy as a Really Heavy Thing'', which he released under the pseudonym Strapping Young Lad. Faber Drive
Faber Drive is a four-piece Juno Award-nominated Canadian pop punk band from Mission, British Columbia, formed in 2004. The band consists of lead vocalist Dave Faber, lead guitarist Jordan Pritchett, bass guitarist Jeremy "Krikit" Liddle and drummer Seamus O'Neill. Their biggest influences are U2, The Police, Def Leppard, Jimmy Eat World, Stryper and Winger. They have toured with bands such as Hedley, Stereos, Marianas Trench, Simple Plan and Metro Station. Biography In 2005, the band released a limited-edition three-song EP under the band name 'Faber' but, due to legal issues with a large corporation of the same name, its name was changed to Faber Drive. Stabilo (band)
Stabilo (originally Stabilo Boss) was a Canadian rock band from Maple Ridge, British Columbia. It formed in 1999 and is best known for its songs " Everybody", "One More Pill", " Don't Look in Their Eyes", " Flawed Design", and " Kidding Ourselves". Band’s history Before Stabilo Members Jesse Dryfhout and Christopher John (then Chris Moerman) were high-school classmates who played in a band called Molly along with Shaun Bennett and McKenzie Dougall. Gob is a Canadian punk rock band from Langley, British Columbia, formed in 1993. The band consists of Tom Thacker, Theo Goutzinakis, Gabe Mantle and Steven Fairweather. They were nominated for a Juno Award for best new group in 2000, and received another Juno nomination for best video in 2002. Gob's most successful album is ''World According to Gob''. Their best-selling songs to date are " I Hear You Calling", "Soda", and "Banshee Song". Fake Shark - Real Zombie!
Fake Shark (formerly known as Fake Shark – Real Zombie!) is a Canadian electronic indie-pop band from Vancouver, British Columbia. Formed in 2005, their early musical style mainly combined elements of dance punk and IDM but have since shifted to a more commercial pop sound. The name is a reference to Lucio Fulci's film ''Zombi 2'', where a real shark and a zombie engage in combat. History Fake Shark was conceived by Kevin "Kevvy Mental" Maher and Louis Wu in October 2005 as a way of combining the styles of the bands they liked in hopes to one day open for them. They met in high school and formed Fake Shark shortly after graduation. To complete the band, they recruited (via Craigslist) bassist Dan Hughes and The Heck's former drummer, Malcolm Holt. Stutterfly was a Post-hardcore/Nu Metal band formed in 1998, Stutterfly started in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, with four members: Chris Stickney (vocals), Jordan Chase (bass, vocals), Bradyn Byron (guitar, vocals), and Craig Langerud (drums).
