The Edmonton Metropolitan Region (EMR), also commonly referred to as Greater Edmonton or Metro Edmonton, is a conglomeration of municipalities centred on Alberta's provincial capital of Edmonton. The EMR's commonly known boundaries are coincident with those of the Edmonton census metropolitan area (CMA) as delineated by Statistics Canada. However, its boundaries are defined differently for Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board administrative purposes. Edmonton/Villeneuve Airport or Villeneuve Airport is located west of Villeneuve in Sturgeon County, Alberta, Canada. Enoch Cree Nation 135, ( cr, ᒪᐢᑫᑯᓯᐦᐠ, translit=maskêkosihk ) previously known as Stony Plain No. 135, is an Indian reserve of the Enoch Cree Nation #440 in Alberta. Parkland Airport
Parkland Airport is a registered aerodrome located southeast of Spruce Grove in Parkland County, Alberta, Canada. It opened in November 2013, when the Edmonton City Centre Airport closed. The Edmonton Flying Club is located at the aerodrome. According to a CTV News report from November 2013 the airport had the Transport Canada location identifier of CPL6. However, the aerodrome and code did not appear in the Canada Flight Supplement until April 3, 2014. Runway Although the Parkland Airport website has indicated, since 2016, that the runway is the Canada Flight Supplement of 20 June 2019 indicates that the runway is still . Sturgeon County is a municipal district the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada. It is north of Edmonton and west of the North Saskatchewan River. Sturgeon County is located in Division No. 11 and was named for the Sturgeon River. History In 1876, the Crown gained title to the land that would later become Sturgeon County in Treaty 6 with First Nations. The area was first settled in 1879. Morinville
Morinville is a town in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada. It is approximately north of Edmonton along Highway 2. History Morinville was settled by Jean-Baptiste Morin, a priest and missionary of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, who brought many French settlers in the late 1800s, followed by several German pioneers. The monument located in St. Jean Baptiste Park lists the many names of pioneers and settlers to Morinville. Once situated on the street at 100 Avenue and 100 Street, the monument was moved to its present location in 2000, as it was a safety hazard and very difficult to enjoy with all the traffic at the intersection.
