Airport
An airport is an aerodrome with extended facilities, mostly for commercial air transport. Airports usually consists of a landing area, which comprises an aerially accessible open space including at least one operationally active surface such as a runway for a plane to take off and to land or a helipad, and often includes adjacent utility buildings such as control towers, hangars and terminals, to maintain and monitor aircraft. Bedourie is a town and a locality in the Shire of Diamantina, Queensland, Australia. In the , Bedourie had a population of 122 people. Geography Bedourie is located in the Channel Country of Central West Queensland, Australia, lying on Eyre Creek. It is located west of the state capital, Brisbane, and north of Birdsville. Bedourie is the administrative centre of the Diamantina Shire, which also comprises the towns of Birdsville and Betoota. Bamaga
Bamaga ( , ) is a small town and locality about from the northern tip of Cape York in the north of Queensland, Australia. It is within the Northern Peninsula Area Region. It is one of the northernmost settlements in continental Australia and is the administrative centre for the Northern Peninsula Area Regional Council. In the , Bamaga had a population of 1,164 people, of whom 957 (82.4%) identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. History The original site for the township of Bamaga was at a site known as "Muttee Heads" some south of the present Bamaga township. The present site was established after World War II by people from Saibai Island in Torres Strait, after Saibai Island was devastated by abnormally high tides. It is named after Saibai elder Bamaga Ginau, who envisaged the site but died before it was established. Ballera Gas Plant
Ballera gas plant is a natural-gas processing facility in the locality of Durham in the southwestern Queensland, Australia. It is operated by Santos Limited. The gas plant processes gas from approximately 130 wells in 45 gas fields in the Eromanga Basin. Processed gas is transmitted via the 755 km South West Queensland Pipeline to the trading hub at Wallumbilla (east of Roma) in southeastern Queensland, via the QSN Link extension of that pipeline to Moomba (180 km southwest, in northeastern South Australia) and via the Carpentaria Gas Pipeline to Mount Isa (800 km north). It is served by the Ballera Airport as workers fly in and out. Crude oil is not processed at Ballera, but at Jackson, 65 km southeast. The Ballera gas plant is operated by Santos Limited which is slightly over 60% owner of the facility. The other joint owners are Beach Energy and Origin Energy.
