List Of Xhosa Kings
The Xhosa are a nation from southern Africa. Xhosa, the one after whom the Xhosa people are named, fathered Malangana. The Xhosa kingship separated when the line got to Phalo because of what happened when he married. The great house of Phalo is called Gcaleka at Nqadu Great Palace and is situated in Willowvale, Eastern Cape. The right-hand house is called Rharhabe at Mngqesha Great Palace and is situated in Qonce, Eastern Cape. The Rharhabe's house enjoyed autonomy for decades and was often referred to as the right-hand house, while the Gcaleka The Gcaleka House is the Great house of the Xhosa Kingdom in what is now the Eastern Cape. The Xhosa people, or Xhosa language, Xhosa-speaking people (; ) are African people who are direct kinsmen of Tswana people, Sotho people and Twa people, yet are narrowly sub grouped by European as Nguni people, Nguni ethnic group whose traditional homeland is primarily the Cape Provinces, Cape Provinces of South Africa, however the skulls from Mapungubwe empire shows that they have always been in Southern Africa like their kinsmen and had developed a sophisticated culture as well as civilization. Sarili KaHintsa
King Sarhili ( about 1810 - 1892) was the King of Xhosa nation from 1835 until his death in 1892 at Sholora, Bomvanaland. He was also known as "Kreli", and led the Xhosa armies in a series of frontier wars. Early life and family Sarili was the oldest son of the Great Hintsa ka Khawuta and Nomsa kaGambushe Tshezi. Sarili had nine wives including Nohuthe, Nondwe of the abaThembu and Bayo of the amaGwali. His first heir died in 1853 at the age of 12 and the next in line was his son Sigcawu ka Sarili from his second wife Nohuthe. His daughter Novili Nomkafulo became the great wife of Ngangelizwe Qeya, the 6th paramount chief of the abaThembu. King (iKumkani) Maxhob'ayakhawuleza Sandile (21 May 1956 – 11 July 2011) was the son of the late King Mxolisi Sandile ''Aa! Bazindlovu'', who was the son of King Archie Velile Sandile, and Queen Nolizwe , the daughter of Amampondo King Victor Poto Ndamase ''Aa! Bhekuzulu'' and sister to the wife of Chief Justice Thandathu Mabandla of the AmaBhele aseTyhume royal clan. He was the 9th descendant of King Phalo, the Son of King Tshiwo. In 1988 he married his wife, Princess Nomusa Zulu, who was the daughter of the then Zulu King, the late King Cyprian Bhekuzulu kaSolomon and sister to King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu. Zwelonke Sigcawu
King Zwelonke (Mpendulo Calvin Sigcawu; 4 April 1968 – 14 November 2019) was a South African royal and King of the Xhosa people. He became king on 1 January 2006. Zwelonke was born at Nqadu Great Palace in Willowvale in the Eastern Cape to Xolilizwe Mzikayise Sigcawu and Nozamile. King Zwelonke Sigcawu had been king of the AmaXhosa since the death of his father, King Xolilizwe Sigcawu, in 2005. King Xolilizwe KaZwelidumile (Mzikayise Sigcawu; 6 June 1926 – 31 December 2005) was the King of the Xhosa people from 10 April 1965 to 31 December 2005. King Xolilizwe was an active member of the National House of Traditional Leaders. He was the oldest son of King Bungeni Zwelidumile Sigcawu. Maqoma
Jongumsobomvu Maqoma (1798–1873) was a Xhosa chief and a commander of the Xhosa forces during the Cape Frontier Wars. Born in the Right Hand House of the Xhosa Kingdom, he was the older brother of Chief Mgolombane Sandile and nephew to King Hintsa.
