This is a list of theatrical animated feature films produced or released by Warner Bros., a division of Warner Bros. Discovery. Warner Bros. releases films from Warner-owned and non-Warner owned animation studios. Most films listed below were produced by Warner Bros. divisions, but Warner Bros. has also released films produced by other production companies, such as United Productions of America and Don Bluth Ireland Ltd. Additionally, Warner Bros.'s Japanese division has helped co-produce and release anime films in that country, such as ''Summer Wars'' and '' Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Movie''. ''Oliver Twist'' is a 1974 American animated adventure musical drama film directed by Hal Sutherland that is based on Charles Dickens's 1838 novel of the same name. The film was the second and last to be produced by Filmation and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Davy Jones, who played The Artful Dodger in the original Broadway production of ''Oliver!'', reprises his role. Plot In the 19th century, orphan Oliver Twist is sent to a workhouse, where the children are barely fed and mistreated. Rainbow Brite And The Star Stealer
''Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer'' is a 1985 American animated fantasy film directed by Bernard Deyriès and Kimio Yabuki. The film was produced by DIC Enterprises, Inc. and Hallmark Cards, and was released in the United States on November 15, 1985 by Warner Bros. It is the only film to feature the greeting card character Rainbow Brite; she also appeared in a few television specials prior to its release, and later in a ''Kideo TV'' series. In the film, Rainbow Brite tries to bring spring to an Earth that is already facing a perpetual winter. She must stop a wicked princess who wants all of Spectra, a planet-sized diamond through which all the light in the universe must pass. The film did not receive advance screenings upon its release, and fared weakly among critics. It grossed almost $5 million at the United States box office, after opening with $1.8 million. Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island
''Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island'' (also known as ''Daffy Duck's Movie: Fantastic Island'') is a 1983 ''Looney Tunes'' traditionally animated compilation film directed by Friz Freleng and Phil Monroe with a compilation of classic Warner Bros. cartoon shorts and animated bridging sequences, hosted by Daffy Duck and Speedy Gonzales. This was the first ''Looney Tunes'' compilation film to center on Daffy Duck, as the previous ones had centered on Bugs Bunny. A note in the end credits dedicates the film to animator and story man, John Dunn, "who inspired it." Dunn died of heart failure in San Fernando, California on January 17, 1983; six months before the film's release. The Ladd Company
The Ladd Company was an American film production company founded by Alan Ladd Jr., Jay Kanter, and Gareth Wigan in 1979. In 1979, the three founders were executives with 20th Century Fox; Ladd was the president. They announced their intention to leave the company when their contracts expired in December 1980 and form a new production company to be financed by Warner Bros. (Ladd had reportedly been quarreling with other Fox senior executives.) Fox subsequently cut their contracts short, ending on October 1, 1979. The day after the contracts expired, the trio placed ads for the newly named "Ladd Company" in ''The Hollywood Reporter'' and ''Variety''. John Korty
John Korty (June 22, 1936 – March 9, 2022) was an American film director and animator, best known for the television film '' The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman'' and the documentary '' Who Are the DeBolts? And Where Did They Get Nineteen Kids?'', as well as the theatrical animated feature '' Twice Upon a Time''. He has won an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature (for ''Who Are the DeBolts?'') and several other major awards. He is described by the film critic Leonard Maltin as "a principled filmmaker who has worked both outside and within the mainstream, attempting to find projects that support his humanistic beliefs". ''Twice Upon a Time'' is a 1983 American animated adventure fantasy comedy film co-directed by John Korty and Charles Swenson from a screenplay by Korty, Swenson, Suella Kennedy and Bill Couturié. The first animated film produced by George Lucas, it uses a form of cutout animation which the filmmakers called "Lumage", involving prefabricated cut-out plastic pieces that the animators moved on a light table. ''Bugs Bunny's 3rd Movie: 1001 Rabbit Tales'' is a 1982 animated anthology comedy film directed by Friz Freleng with a compilation of Warner Bros. cartoon shorts (many of which have been abridged) and animated bridging sequences with Bugs Bunny as the story host. Plot Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck have to sell books for Rambling House. They go their separate ways and experience many wacky things. For instance, while flying through a winter storm, Daffy runs into a house owned by Porky Pig and briefly stays there while taking place of a stuffed duck which he merely destroyed. Meanwhile, Bugs burrows his way to a jungle where he pretends to be a baby ape to an ape couple. Ralph Bakshi
Ralph Bakshi (born October 29, 1938) is an American animator and filmmaker. In the 1970s, he established an alternative to mainstream animation through independent and adult-oriented productions. Between 1972 and 1992, he directed nine theatrically released feature films, five of which he wrote. He has been involved in numerous television projects as director, writer, producer, and animator. Beginning his career at the Terrytoons television cartoon studio as a cel polisher, Bakshi was eventually promoted to animator, and then director. He moved to the animation division of Paramount Pictures in 1967 and started his own studio, Bakshi Productions, in 1968. Through producer Steve Krantz, Bakshi made his debut feature film, ''Fritz the Cat'', released in 1972. ''Hey Good Lookin'' is a 1982 American adult animated coming of age comedy-drama film written, directed, and produced by Ralph Bakshi. The film takes place in Brooklyn during the 1950s and focuses on Vinnie, the leader of a gang named 'the Stompers', his friend Crazy Shapiro, and their respective girlfriends Roz and Eva. The film stars the voices of Richard Romanus, David Proval, Tina Bowman, and Jesse Welles. The film was first completed in 1975 as a live-action/animated film, in which only the main characters were animated and the rest were portrayed by live actors, but the film's release was pushed back, and later postponed indefinitely.
