List Of Warner Bros. Films (1918–1929)
This is a list of films produced, co-produced, and/or distributed by Warner Bros. and also its subsidiary First National Pictures for the years 1918–1919. From 1928 to 1936, films by First National continued to be credited solely to "First National Pictures". In July 1936, stockholders of First National Pictures, Inc. (primarily Warner Bros.) voted to dissolve the corporation and no further separate First National Pictures were made. Plot When a smart aleck street kid's father, a policeman, is killed in the line of duty, the boy turns over a new leaf and goes to work to support his mother, brothers and sisters. He gets a job as an usher in a theater, but really wants to become a policeman to avenge the death of his father. ''Conductor 1492'' is a 1924 American silent comedy film directed by Charles Hines and starring Johnny Hines. It was produced and distributed by Warner Bros. Plot As described in a review of the film in a film magazine, Terence O’Toole (Hines) leaves his old home in Ireland to seek his fortune in America. He becomes "Conductor 1492" on a trolley car belonging to a system which both the president and vice-president are struggling to gain control. The final outcome of this fight depends on two shares of stock which are missing and which if not found will bring disgrace to President Connelly. The villain produces two forged shares but Johnny’s father saves the day by producing the real shares, which he bought a number of years before. In the meantime Terence has fallen in love with Connelly’s daughter and he gets her as his reward. ''Tiger Rose'' is a 1923 American silent romantic adventure film produced and distributed by the Warner Brothers. It is based on Willard Mack's 1917 Broadway play starring Lenore Ulric. Ulric reprises her role in this silent film version. The story was later filmed as again in 1929 as '' Tiger Rose'' by George Fitzmaurice. The SilentEra database lists this film as surviving. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Trooper Michael Devlin of the Royal Northwest Mounted Police saves the life of Rose Bocion. She is an orphan, the ward of factor Hector McCollins. She falls in love with Bruce Norton. Norton slays a man who betrayed his sister and was the cause of his father's death. Aided by Dr. Cusick, who later turns out to be the husband of Norton's sister, Rose helps Norton to escape. Trooper Devlin finally arrests Norton, but he is later freed and later marries Rose.
