Professional wrestling is a form of theater that revolves around staged wrestling matches. The mock combat is performed in a ring similar to the kind used in boxing, and the dramatic aspects of pro wrestling may be performed both in the ring or—as in televised wrestling shows—in backstage areas of the venue, in similar form to reality television. Professional wrestling as a form of theater evolved out of the widespread practice of match fixing among wrestlers in the early 20th century. Rather than sanction the wrestlers for their deceit as was done with boxers, the public instead came to see professional wrestling as a performance art rather than a sport. ''WWE Aftershock'' is a professional wrestling video game released exclusively on the N-Gage in 2005. Development The game was announced by Nokia in collaboration with THQ and WWE on August 3, 2004. It was originally scheduled to release in the fourth quarter of 2004, then February 2005, and then later on March 22, 2005. Gameplay There are five main events and Survival (multiple enemies at the same time), King of the Ring(ladder tournament), and Tag Team(two versus two) match options. WWE Aftershock includes 12 WWE superstars, such as John Cena. The game features two-player contests through Bluetooth and the N-Gage Arena. ''WWF Royal Rumble'' is a professional wrestling video game released in 2000 for arcades and the Dreamcast. THQ published the title for the Dreamcast while Sega released it for arcades. It is based on the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) professional wrestling promotion and its yearly Royal Rumble event, this game is based on the 2000 edition. Yuke's, creators of the '' WWF SmackDown! series'' developed ''Royal Rumble'', which had several unique features including support for up to nine wrestlers on the screen simultaneously. The game is also based on the pay-per-view Royal Rumble (2000). The Dreamcast version was released to mixed reviews that faulted its small roster and lack of gameplay modes. is a professional wrestling video game developed and released by Technōs Japan for arcades in 1991, featuring stars of the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). The game was distributed by Technōs in Japan and North America, and by Tecmo in Japan, Europe and Australasia. It is the sequel to Technōs' previous WWF game, ''WWF Superstars''. Compared to ''Superstars'', ''WrestleFest'' adds a variety of different wrestlers to the roster as well as enhanced graphics and sound. A series of unrelated games with the WWF Superstars (Game Boy), same title were released by LJN for the original Game Boy line, Game Boy.
