Cover Model
A cover model is a male or female whose photograph appears on the front cover of a magazine. The cover model is generally a fashion model, celebrity, or contest winner. Generally, cover models are depicted solitarily; however, on occasion magazines will present a front cover with multiple cover models. Female cover models are often referred to as cover girls. Cover models generally take part in a fashion or portrait photography photo shoot for the magazine. When a magazine depicts a candid or stock photography, stock image for the main cover image, the talent is referred to as the magazine "cover" rather than "cover model" or "cover girl". Francesco Scavullo
Francesco Scavullo (January 16, 1921 – January 6, 2004) was an American fashion photographer best known for his work on the covers of ''Cosmopolitan'' and his celebrity portraits. Biography Scavullo was born January 16, 1921, on Staten Island, New York City. He used his father's camera to photograph his sisters, who would model for him. He began working for a studio that produced fashion catalogs and soon moved to ''Vogue.'' Scavullo spent three years as Horst P. Horst's assistant, studying Horst's techniques. He created a cover for ''Seventeen'' in 1948 that won him a contract with the magazine. Scavullo soon opened his own studio in Manhattan, and was married to model Carol McCallson from 1952 to 1955. Scavullo's 1969 photograph of singer Janis Joplin with a cigarette in her hand was exhibited at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. Tessa Charlotte Rampling (born 5 February 1946) is an English actress, known for her work in European arthouse films in English, French, and Italian. An icon of the Swinging Sixties, she began her career as a model. She was cast in the role of Meredith in the 1966 film ''Georgy Girl'', which starred Lynn Redgrave. Wilbur "Bill" King (October 6, 1927 – October 18, 2005) was an American sports announcer. In 2016, the National Baseball Hall of Fame named King recipient of the 2017 Ford C. Frick Award, the highest honor for American baseball broadcasters. Elisabetta Catalano (1944 – 4 January 2015) was an Italian fine-art photographer mostly specialized in black and white and color portraiture. Life Catalano was born in Rome, and took up photography as an autodidact.
