List Of UK Top-ten Albums In 2022
The UK Albums Chart is one of many music charts compiled by the Official Charts Company that calculates the best-selling albums of the week in the United Kingdom. Since 2004 the chart has been based on the sales of both physical albums and digital downloads. Since 2015, the album chart has been based on both sales and streaming. This list shows albums that peaked in the top ten of the UK Albums Chart during 2022, as well as albums which peaked in 2021 and 2023 but were in the top 10 in 2022. The entry date is when the album appeared in the top 10 for the first time (week ending, as published by the Official Charts Company, which is six days after the chart is announced). Two-hundred and eight albums were in the top 10 this year. Twelve albums from 2021 remained in the top ten for several weeks at the beginning of the year, while ''Christmas'' by Michael Bublé, originally released in 2011, re-entered the chart in 2021, but did not reach its peak until 2023. UK Albums Chart
The Official Albums Chart is a list of albums ranked by physical and digital sales and (from March 2015) audio streaming in the United Kingdom. It was published for the first time on 22 July 1956 and is compiled every week by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on Fridays (previously Sundays). It is broadcast on BBC Radio 1 (top 5) and found on the OCC website as a Top 100 or on UKChartsPlus as a Top 200, with positions continuing until all sales have been tracked in data only available to industry insiders. However, even though number 100 was classed as a hit album (as in the case of The Guinness Book of British Hit Albums) in the 1980s until January 1989, since the compilations were removed this definition was changed to Top 75 with follow-up books such as The Virgin Book of British Hit Albums book only including this data. Aurora (singer)
Aurora Aksnes (born 15 June 1996), known mononymously as Aurora (stylized in all caps), is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and record producer. Born in Stavanger and raised in the towns of Høle and Os, she began writing her first songs and learning dance at the age of six. After some of her songs were uploaded online and became popular in Norway, she signed a recording contract with Petroleum Records, Decca and Glassnote Records in 2014. Aurora gained recognition with her debut extended play (EP), ''Running with the Wolves'' (2015), which contained the sleeper hit " Runaway". Later that year, she provided the backing track for the John Lewis Christmas advert, singing a cover of the Oasis song " Half the World Away". ''Pier Pressure'' is the debut mixtape by British rapper ArrDee. It was released on 18 March 2022 through Island. It features guest appearances from Aitch, Lola Young, Russ Millions, Tion Wayne, Bugzy Malone, Fivio Foreign, E1 (3x3), ZT (3x3), Buni, Darkoo and Digga D. The reissue adds appearances from Black Sherif and Kyla. Background ArrDee, born Riley Davies, saw success being featured on the remix of Russ Millions and Tion Wayne's song "Body", which topped the charts in various countries including the UK. Riley Davies (born 17 September 2002), known professionally as ArrDee, is a British rapper. His debut mixtape, '' Pier Pressure'', was released on 18 March 2022. Early life Davies was born and raised in Brighton, England. On growing up in Brighton, Davies told ''Acclaim'' magazine, "Brighton is tight. Between my collective of people, I can almost one-hundred percent say we know everybody in Brighton. If we don’t, we know somebody that knows the ones we don’t know."
