Apalachicola River
The Apalachicola River is a river, approximately 160 mi (180 km) long in the state of Florida. The river's large watershed, known as the ACF River Basin, drains an area of approximately into the Gulf of Mexico. The distance to its farthest head waters in northeast Georgia is approximately 500 miles (800 km). Its name comes from the Apalachicola people, who used to live along the river. Description The river is formed on the state line between Florida and Georgia, near the town of Chattahoochee, Florida, approximately northeast of Panama City, by the confluence of the Flint and Chattahoochee rivers. The actual confluence is contained within the Lake Seminole reservoir formed by the Jim Woodruff Dam. It flows generally south through the forests of the Florida Panhandle, past Bristol. Greeley County (county code: GL) is a county located in western Kansas, in the Central United States. Its county seat and largest city is Tribune. As of the 2020 census, the population was 1,284, the least populous county in Kansas. As of 2018, it is tied with Wallace County as the least densely populated county in the state. The county is named after Horace Greeley of Chappaqua, New York, editor of the ''New York Tribune''. Greeley encouraged western settlement with the motto "Go West, young man". Time In Indiana
The U.S. state of Indiana is divided between Eastern and Central time zones. The official dividing line has generally moved progressively west from its original location on the Indiana–Ohio border, to a position dividing Indiana down the middle, and finally to its current location along much of the Indiana–Illinois border. In April 2006, several southwestern and northwestern counties reverted to Central time, although by late 2007 all but two had returned to Eastern time. As much of Indiana is on the western frontier of the Eastern time zone, there was opposition from many in the state to observing daylight saving time there for decades. In 2005, the Indiana General Assembly reached a decision to implement daylight saving time state-wide beginning in April 2006. Calder Act
The Standard Time Act of 1918, also known as the Calder Act, was the first United States federal law implementing Standard time and Daylight saving time in the United States. It defined five time zones for the United States and authorized the Interstate Commerce Commission to define the limits of each time zone. The section concerning daylight saving time was repealed by the act titled ''An Act For the repeal of the daylight-saving law'', , over President Woodrow Wilson's veto. Section 264 of the act mistakenly placed most of the state of Idaho (south of the Salmon River) in UTC−06:00 CST (Central Standard Time), but was amended in 2007 by Congress to UTC−07:00 MST (Mountain Standard Time). Chamorro Standard Time
The Chamorro Time Zone, formerly the Guam Time Zone, is a United States time zone which observes standard time ten hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time ( UTC+10:00). The clock time in this zone is based on the mean solar time of the 150th meridian east of the Greenwich Observatory. The zone includes the U.S. territories of Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, where the Chamorro people are the original inhabitants. Since Daylight Saving Time (DST) is not observed anywhere in this zone, the time is always known as Chamorro Standard Time (ChST). The zone is two hours behind Wake Island Time Zone and 15 hours ahead of North American Eastern Time Zone. As of March 8, 2020, it is the easternmost (farthest ahead) time zone shown on the U.S. government's time.gov webpage.
