TriMet, formally known as the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon, is a public agency that operates mass transit in a region that spans most of the Portland metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Oregon. Created in 1969 by the Oregon legislature, the district replaced five private bus companies that operated in the three counties: Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas. TriMet started operating a light rail system, MAX, in 1986, which has since been expanded to five lines that now cover , as well as the WES Commuter Rail line in 2009. Parkrose/Sumner Transit Center
Parkrose/Sumner Transit Center is a TriMet transit center and light rail station on the MAX Red Line in Portland, Oregon. It is the fourth stop north on the Airport MAX branch, and consists of an island platform in the median of Interstate 205. The entrance and exit to the transit center are on Sandy Blvd. near 95th Avenue, in the Parkrose neighborhood and east of the Sumner neighborhood. It is a hub for bus service to Gresham, Tigard, Lents, Fairview, Vancouver, Wood Village and Clackamas. A bridge across the northbound lanes of I-205 connects the MAX platform to a park-and-ride lot and bus stops. North Lombard Transit Center is a light rail station on the MAX Yellow Line in Portland, Oregon. It is the 7th stop northbound on the Interstate MAX extension. The station is located in the median of Interstate Avenue near the intersection with N Lombard Street. It has staggered side platforms, which sit on either side of the cross street, because the route runs around this station on Interstate Avenue in the median. The Lake Oswego Transit Center is a transit center operated by TriMet, at 4th Street and A Avenue in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The following bus routes serve the transit center: * 35 – Macadam/Greeley * 36 – South Shore * 37 – Lake Grove * 78 – Beaverton/Lake Oswego In 2002, an overhaul was planned due to the proliferation of pedestrian obstacles. Hollywood/Northeast 42nd Avenue Transit Center, also known as Hollywood Transit Center, is a light rail station in the MAX Light Rail system and is located in the Hollywood District of Portland, Oregon. It is the 11th stop eastbound on the eastside MAX main line. It is served by the Blue, Green and Red Lines, of TriMet. It is also a transit center ( bus station for local buses), served by three TriMet bus routes. The transit center is located south of the intersection of Northeast 42nd Avenue and Halsey Street. The MAX station platform is situated between Interstate 84 and a Union Pacific Railroad line and is connected by stairs and an elevator to a pedestrian bridge which connects to the transit center bus bays to the north and neighborhoods to the south, across the freeway.
