Cinema Of Telangana
Telugu cinema, also known as Tollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Telugu language, widely spoken in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Telugu cinema is based in Film Nagar, Hyderabad, India. The nickname ''Tollywood'' is a portmanteau of the words Telugu and Hollywood. By 2021, it has emerged as the largest film industry in India in terms of box-office. Since 1909, filmmaker Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu was involved in producing short films and travelling to different regions in Asia to promote film work. Kadaru Nagabhushanam
Kadaru Nagabhushanam or K. B. Nagabhushanam (1902 – 18 October 1976) was an Indian film director and producer in the 1940s to 1960s, working in Telugu and Tamil cinema. He was the husband of P. Kannamba. They established Rajarajeshwari Films and produced many mythological films starring Kannamba in the lead role including ''Harischandra''. Their social film ''Navajeevanam'' on untouchability got the recognition of Madras State and was chosen as the best feature film. Pasupuleti Kannamba (''Pasupulēţi Kannāṃba'') (5 October 1911 – 7 May 1968) was an Indian actress, playback singer and film producer of Telugu cinema, of Andhra Pradesh, India. She acted in more than 170 films and produced about 25 films in Telugu and Tamil languages during the 1930s to the 1960s. Career Kannamba was born in Eluru. She started acting in dramas at the age of 13. She performed many characters such as Sati Savitri, Anasuya and Chandramati. Her film career began with the Chandramati character in ''Harishchandra'' (1935) of Star Combines. Gummadi (actor)
Gummadi Venkateswara Rao (9 July 1927 – 26 January 2010), known Mononym, mononymously by his surname Gummadi, was an Indian actor and producer, who worked predominantly in Telugu cinema and a few Tamil films. Known as one of the finest method acting, method actors, Gummadi starred in around five hundred feature films. He received critical recognition for his work in ''Thodu Dongalu (1954 film), Thodu Dongalu'' (1954) and ''Mahamantri Timmarusu (film), Mahamantri Timmarusu'' (1962), for which he has received the erstwhile Rashtrapati Award. Mukkamala (actor)
Mukkamala Krishna Murthy (1920–1987), known mononymously by his surname as Mukkamala (Telugu: ముక్కామల), was a lawyer turned actor who was active in Telugu films in the 1950s and the 1960s. He was a stage actor in his student days and was popular in the role of French General Bussy in ''Bobbili Yuddham'', a stage play based on the historical Battle of Bobbili (Bobbili Yuddham). He joined the Telugu film industry in the late 1940s in Madras and played a variety of character roles in a career lasting for about 35 years. He died in 1987. ''Jwaladweepa Rahasyam'' () is a 1965 Telugu-language fantasy film directed by B. Vittalacharya. The film was produced under the banner Madhu Pictures by P. Mallikharjuna Rao. Kongara Jaggayya (31 December 1928 – 5 March 2004) was an Indian actor, littérateur, journalist, lyricist, dubbing artist and politician known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema and Telugu theatre. He was known as ''Kanchu Kantham Jaggayya'' (Telugu) for his booming voice. In a film career spanning forty years as a matinee idol, he starred in eighty films, as a lead actor, and lead antagonist in a variety of genres. Jamuna (born 30 August 1936) is an Indian actress, director and politician who appeared mainly in Telugu films. She made her acting debut at the age of 16 in Dr. Garikapati Rajarao's ''Puttillu'' (1953), and received her breakthrough with L. V. Prasad ''Missamma'' (1955). Her filmography also includes Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films. She won a Filmfare Award and an award at Filmfare Awards South.
