List Of Sri Lankan Public Corporations By Market Capitalisation
This is a list of largest publicly traded companies on Colombo Stock Exchange by market capitalisation in Sri Lanka. Only the top 50 companies are listed below. List These 50 companies alone account for about 75% of the total market capitalisation of the Colombo Stock Exchange. On January 4, 2021, total market capitalisation crossed three trillion rupees mark for the first time. Hayleys announced a stock split on January 21 of 2021 and it resulted in increasing market capitalization by over 100 billion rupees. The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) ( si, කොළඹ ව්‍යාපාර වස්තු හුවමාරුව, translit=Kolamba Vyapara Vasthu Huvamaruva; ta, கொழும்பு பங்கு பரிவர்த்தனை) is the main stock exchange in Sri Lanka that utilizes an electronic trading platform. The CSE headquarters have been located at the World Trade Center (Colombo) Towers in Colombo since 1995, and it has regional branches in Kandy, Jaffna, Negombo, Matara, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura and Ratnapura. The CSE trades 296 companies representing 20 business sectors, with a combined market capitalization of 3,699 billion Sri Lankan rupees. Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC branded as Rocell, is a Sri Lankan holding company and is also engaged in manufacturing ceramic tiles and bath ware. The company was founded in 1990 and in 1994, it was listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. The company is one of the constituents of the S&P Sri Lanka 20 Index. Richard Pieris and Company (ARPICO) established in 1940 it is one of Sri Lanka's largest conglomerates with interests in manufacturing, engineering, retail and plantation industries.
