Nikolay Bogolyubov (actor)
Nikolay Ivanovich Bogolyubov (russian: Никола́й Ива́нович Боголю́бов; 22 October 1899 – 9 March 1980) was a Soviet Union, Soviet actor born in Lipetsk Oblast, Ivanovskoye, Russia and a People's Artist of the RSFSR (1945). In 1933 he played in Boris Barnet's ''Okraina (1933 film), Okraina''; in 1941, he was awarded the Stalin State Prize, Stalin Prize. Bogolyubov attended the studio school of the Ryazan town theater and joined its troupe in 1919. In 1923–1926, he studied at the school of the Theater of the Russian Federation (RSFSR) named after its director, Vsevolod Meyerhold. From 1938 to 1958, the actor belonged to the Moscow Art Theater. Aleksandr Ivanovich Medvedkin (russian: Александр Иванович Медведкин; 24 February 1900 – 20 February 1989) was a Soviet Russian film director, best known for his 1935 film ''Happiness''. His life and art are the subject of Chris Marker's documentary films, ''The Train Rolls On'' (1971) and '' The Last Bolshevik'' (1992). He travelled around Russia in his Kinopoezd, a Cinetrain, in which he carried film equipment and shot movies in Kolkhozy, which he would then screen there. The New Moscow (russian: Новая Москва, Novaya Moskva) is a 1938 Soviet Science fiction film, sci-fi comedy film directed by Aleksandr Medvedkin and Aleksandr Olenin. It was banned from showing by Joseph Stalin. Plot The film tells about the adventures of the young designer Alyosha, who made a living model of the future capital of the Soviet Union, his relationship with his beloved girlfriend Zoya and the relations between the painter Fedya and the pig-tender Olya. Aleksandr Mikhailovich Faintsimmer (Feinzimmer, russian: Александр Михайлович Файнциммер; 31 December 1906 – 21 March 1982) was a Soviet film director. He has been cited as a filmmaker on the forefront of Russian language social thriller. His son Leonid Kvinikhidze was also a film director. Sergei Iosifovich Yutkevich (russian: Серге́й Ио́сифович Ютке́вич, 28 December 1904 – 23 April 1985) was a Soviet and Russian film director and screenwriter. He was a People's Artist of the USSR (1962) and a Hero of Socialist Labour (1974). Life and career He began work as a teen doing puppet shows. Between 1921 and 1923 he studied under Vsevolod Meyerhold. Later he helped found the ''Factory of the Eccentric Actor (FEKS)'', which was primarily concerned with circus and music hall acts. He entered films in the 1920s and began directing in 1928. His films often were cheerier than most Russian films as he was influenced by American slapstick, among other things. However he also did serious historical films, docudramas, and biopics. He won Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Director twice: for ''Othello'' in 1956 and for ''Lenin in Poland'' in 1966. Sergei Appolinarievich Gerasimov (russian: Серге́й Апполина́риевич Гера́симов; 21 May 1906 – 26 November 1985) was a Soviet film director and screenwriter. The oldest film school in the world, the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK), bears his name. Early life and education Gerasimov was born on 21 May 1906.
