Siegfried Mynhardt
Siegfried Mynhardt (5 March 1906 – 28 March 1996) was a South African actor. Personal life Mynhardt was born in Johannesburg and lived in a Wynberg army camp, where his father was a padre. He had three children with his wife, Jocelyn. Career As well as appearing in several films and several television projects, Mynhardt was also known for his work in both South African and British theatre. After the end of school, he started appearing in theatre productions across South Africa. He admitted that he learnt true professionalism in the 1930s, when he was performing in the Old Vic in London and sharing a flat with Alec Guinness. His credits included appearing in ''Dingaka'', a 1965 film by the acclaimed South African director, Jamie Uys. Henry Cele
Henry Cele () (30 January 1941 – 2 November 2007) was a South African actor noted for his portrayal of the great Zulu Warrior King Shaka kaSenzangakhona in the South African television miniseries ''Shaka Zulu'' (1986) as well as in the television movie ''Shaka Zulu: The Last Great Warrior'' 15 years later. Biography Henry Cele was born on 20 June 1941 in KwaMashu, Durban, South Africa. As a member of the Cele family he was referred to by his clan name Ndosi (Bavela KwaMthetwa), or Magaye. As an athlete Cele, nicknamed "Black Cat" for his prowess as a goalkeeper, played for Aces United in the old South African Soccer League (SASL) in the 1960s. He also played for Lamontville Golden Arrows f.c soccer team in Lamontville Township and coached a professional soccer club in South Africa until his death. Johanna Wilhelmina Cilliers (born 1950), known professionally as Jana Cilliers, is a South African bilingual actress. She is the recipient of a number of accolades, including two South African Film and Television Awards and a Fleur du Cap Theatre Award. Early life A native of Pretoria, Cilliers is the daughter of the abstract painter Bettie Cilliers-Barnard and Carel Hancke Cilliers. She attended Hoërskool Menlopark. Connie Temweka Gabisile Chiume (born 5 June 1952) is a South African actress and filmmaker. She is known for her film roles in ''Black Panther'', ''Black Is King'' and ''Blessers''. On television, she appeared in ''Zone 14'', ''Rhythm City'', and '' Gomora''. Early life Chiume was born in Welkom, South Africa. Her father Wright Tadeyo Chiume (d. 1983) was from Usisya, Nkhata Bay, Malawi and her mother MaNdlovu (d. 2020) hailed from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Her cousin, Ephraim Mganda Chiume is a Malawian politician. Chiume spent her early childhood in Welkom. Pieter-Dirk Uys (; born 28 September 1945) is a South African performer, author, satirist, and social activist. One of his best known roles is as Evita Bezuidenhout, an Afrikaner socialite. Background and early life Uys was born in Cape Town on 28 September 1945, to Hannes Uys, a Calvinist Afrikaner father, and Helga Uys, Helga Bassel, a Berlin-born Jewish mother. Hannes Uys, a fourth-generation South African of Dutch and Belgian Huguenot stock, was a musician and organist in his local church. Bassel was a German concert pianist, whom the Nazis expelled from the Reichsmusikkammer in 1935 as part of their campaign to root out Jewish artists. She later escaped to South Africa and managed to take her grand piano with her, with which she taught her daughter, Tessa Uys (b. 1948), now a concert pianist based in London. Paul Slabolepszy (born 1948), or Paul "Slab", is a South African actor and playwright. Overview Slabolepszy was born in Bolton, England. His mother was English and his father was a Polish refugee. The family then emigrated to South Africa. He grew up in Musina, Pietersburg and Witbank. Slabolepszy went to a Catholic boarding school, the ''College of the Little Flower'' in Polokwane. His initial intention was to become a radio sports commentator. When the school played soccer, he would commentate and record the commentary for later playback. These commentaries soon became an institution. Slabolepszy then extended this to doing sports reports. Roland Mqwebu (16 January 1941 – 28 August 2015) was a South African actor famous for his role as James Mkhize, an InDuna and ''mantshingelani'' (watchman) in the sitcom '' Emzini Wezinsizwa''. Early life Mqwebu was born on January 16, 1941, in Inanda as the third of 13 children. He grew up in a Christian family with actors and singers. Joe "Sdumo" Mafela (25 June 1942 – 18 March 2017) was a South African actor, writer, producer, director, singer, and businessman. Career Mafela was born in Sibasa, Transvaal, South Africa, and brought up in Kliptown and White City Jabavu, in Soweto, near Johannesburg, and then his family remained until 1990 in the Tshiawelo Township that had been set aside for Venda people under Apartheid. He began acting in movies at the age of twenty-two. He played the role of an editor in the movie, ''Real News''. He joined the South African film company SA Films, and over the following 20 years he worked as a producer and director as well as a film actor.
