List Of Scotland International Footballers Born Outside Scotland
This is a list of players who have played international football for the Scotland national football team and who were born outside Scotland. For the purposes of international football, the global governing body FIFA considers Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland to be distinct and individual countries. This has happened since the early days of international football, as Arthur Kinnaird, 11th Lord Kinnaird (born in England) and Henry Renny-Tailyour represented Scotland in the 1870s. The first black international football player, Andrew Watson, was born in British Guiana and represented Scotland during the 1880s. The majority of these players were born in England. In a friendly match against Cyprus in November 2011, five of the sixteen players used by Scotland were born in England. Willie Fraser (footballer)
William Alexander Fraser (24 February 1929 – 7 March 1996) was a Scottish footballer who played for Sunderland and the Scotland national football team as a goalkeeper. Club career Born in Australia, Fraser started his professional footballing career with Third Lanark in 1946 and he made 63 appearances for the club until his departure to Airdrieonians in 1950. He joined Airdrie in 1950 and played for them up to 1954 and made a total of 103 appearances at his time there. He joined his third club, Sunderland, in 1954 and made his debut for them on 20 March 1954 against Tottenham Hotspur in 3–0 win at White Hart Lane. Fraser played for Sunderland from 1954 up until 1959 in that time he had made 127 appearances for the North East club. Jacob Brown (footballer)
Jacob Samuel Brown (born 10 April 1998) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for EFL Championship club Stoke City and the Scotland national football team. Brown started his career with Barnsley, making his professional debut in October 2016. After spending time out on loan at Chesterfield in 2017–18, he broke into the first team at Oakwell, helping them gain promotion to the Championship in 2018–19. Liam Robert Bridcutt (born 8 May 1989) is a professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Blackpool. Born in England, he represented the Scotland national team. Bridcutt started his career with Chelsea, but did not make a league appearance for the London club. He was loaned to Yeovil Town, Watford and Stockport County, before moving to Brighton & Hove Albion in 2010. He has since played for Sunderland, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest. George Boyd (footballer)
George Jan Boyd (born 2 October 1985) is a former professional footballer. Initially deployed as a left winger in the early stages of his career, Boyd was used more frequently in an attacking midfield role as his career progressed. Boyd started his career in the youth academy at Charlton Athletic, before joining Stevenage Borough of the Football Conference in 2001. He made his first-team debut for Stevenage in 2002, aged 17, and spent five years there, scoring over thirty goals. Phillip Anthony Bardsley (born 28 June 1985) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Stockport County. He has played international football for the Scotland national team. Bardsley began his career with Manchester United where he made 18 appearances in five seasons at the club. During that time, he was loaned to several clubs, including Royal Antwerp, Burnley, Rangers, Aston Villa and Sheffield United. He joined Sunderland in January 2008 for an initial fee of £850,000. Graham Alexander
Graham Alexander (born 10 October 1971) is a professional football manager and former player who was most recently the manager of Scottish Premiership club Motherwell. In a lengthy playing career, Alexander represented Scunthorpe United, Luton Town, Preston North End and Burnley. He also made 40 international appearances for Scotland. Ché Zach Everton Fred Adams (born 13 July 1996) is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Southampton and the Scotland national team. Adams began his senior career in non-league football with Oadby Town and Ilkeston before moving into the Football League with Sheffield United in late 2014.
