Réseau Express Régional
The Réseau Express Régional ( en, Regional Express Network), commonly abbreviated RER (), is a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris and its ÃŽle-de-France, suburbs. It acts as a combined city-centre underground rail system and suburbs-to-city-centre commuter rail. In the city centre it acts much like the Paris Métro, though faster, having fewer stops. This has made it a model for proposals to improve transit within other cities. The network consists of five lines: RER A, A, RER B, B, RER C, C, RER D, D and RER E, E. The network has 257 stations and has interchanges with the Paris Métro, Métro and Transilien, commuter rail within the City of Paris and the suburbs. The lines are identified by letters to avoid confusion with the Métro lines, which are identified by numbers. Bus (RATP)
The RATP bus network covers the entire territory of the city of Paris and the vast majority of its near suburbs. Operated by the Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens (RATP), this constitutes a dense bus network complementary to other public transport networks, all organized and financed by Île-de-France Mobilités. Other suburban bus lines are managed by private operators grouped in a consortium known as Optile ('), an association of 80 private bus operators holding exclusive rights on their lines. There are approximately 9500 buses serving public transportation across the Paris region, all operators included. Brétigny-sur-Orge
Brétigny-sur-Orge (, literally ''Brétigny on Orge'') is a commune in the southern suburbs of Paris, France, from the city center. Origin of the city name The name of the settlement is attested as ''Britiniacum'' in 1146, as ''Bretigniacum'' in 1548, and subsequently as Breteigny. The origins of ''Brétigny'' start in the era of Roman Gaul. The etymology comes from the Latin ''britiniacum'', which means "property of the Breton". The name certifies that this territory was during that period dedicated to a Breton, coming from (Great) Britain, during the period of Briton migration (6th century). Brétigny afterwards belonged to the royal estate of the Merovingian kings (from the 5th century until the 8th century). Bondy () is a commune in the northeastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located from the centre of Paris, in the Seine-Saint-Denis department. In 2019, it had a population of 54,587. Name The name Bondy was recorded for the first time around AD 600 as ''Bonitiacum'', meaning "estate of Bonitius", a Gallo-Roman landowner. History During the Middle Ages, Bondy was mostly forest, and the forest of Bondy was a well-known haunt of bandits and robbers and was considered extremely dangerous. On 3 January 1905, a third of the territory of Bondy was detached and became the commune of Les Pavillons-sous-Bois. On 30 October 2007, a gas explosion killed one person and injured 47 people. Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV station ( French: ''Gare de l'aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 2 TGV'') is a major passenger railway station in Tremblay-en-France, France. It is directly beneath terminal two of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (between the C/D and E/F concourses) and is operated by the SNCF. The station was opened in November 1994 by President François Mitterrand. It connects the airport to Paris and to various other cities in France, as well as to Belgium.
