Felipe Birriel Fernández, also known as "El Gigante de Carolina" (Carolina's Giant) (August 16, 1916 – March 15, 1994) is considered to have been the tallest Puerto Rican, with an unconfirmed height of . Early years Birriel was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico. He was the son of Pedro Birriel and Dionisia Fernández and was the oldest of six siblings. His highest level of education was up to the second grade in elementary school. As a child, Birriel was sent to the farm fields where he helped his parents plant vegetable seeds. He also worked in the fields picking fruits and coffee beans and as a waterboy, delivered water to the sugar cane workers. In 1932, when Birriel was 16 years old, he started to grow at an alarming rate. One day, he went to visit a doctor because he felt sick with dizzy spells and because he was also feeling weak. Douglas Richards Kennedy (September 14, 1915 – August 10, 1973) was an American supporting actor originally from New York City who appeared in more than 190 films between 1935 and 1973. Early years Kennedy was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dion W. Kennedy. He attended Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts, and afterwards graduated from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. He served in the U. S. Army from 1940 to 1945. Career Kennedy was a character player and occasional leading man in Hollywood. Making his debut in 1935, he played a significant number of supporting roles and was able to secure contract-player status, first at Paramount Pictures and later at Warner Brothers. James Lanphier
James Lanphier was an American actor who did a variety of work for Blake Edwards. He portrayed Saloud in the 1963 film ''The Pink Panther'', and also appeared in films such as ''Darling Lili'' (1970) and the television series ''Peter Gunn'' (1958–61). Biography Lanphier was born at Mitchel Field, New York, to Janet Grant Cobb and Thomas George Lanphier Sr. He had two brothers, Thomas Jr. and Charles. Lanphier made his stage debut as a juvenile in an army post drama. He debuted on Broadway as a dancer in ''Mexican Hayride'' in 1944 and played Mr. Atkins in a production of '' Dark of the Moon'' the following year. James Marshall Thompson (November 27, 1925 – May 18, 1992) was an American film and television actor. Early years Thompson was born in Peoria, Illinois. He and his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Laurence B. Thompson, moved to California when he was a year old. He attended University High School where he was a classmate of Norma Jean Baker, later to be known worldwide as Marilyn Monroe. Mary Ellen "Mala" Powers (December 20, 1931 – June 11, 2007) was an American actress. Early life Powers was born in San Francisco, California, and raised in Los Angeles. Her father was a United Press International, United Press executive, while her mother was a minister. Powers later told a reporter, "I've worked in show business since I've been seven." Powers attended the Max Reinhardt Junior Workshop, where she played her first role in a play before a live audience. Naftuli Hertz "Nathan" Juran (September 1, 1907 – October 23, 2002) was a Romanian film art director, and later film and television director. As an art director, he won the Oscar for Best Art Direction in 1942 for ''How Green Was My Valley'', along with Richard Day and Thomas Little. His work on ''The Razor's Edge'' in 1946 also received an Academy nomination.
