Poland
Poland, officially the Republic of Poland, is a country in Central Europe. It is divided into 16 administrative provinces called voivodeships, covering an area of . Ewa Farna
Ewa Farna (born 12 August 1993) is a Polish-Czech pop-rock singer. She released five Polish-language and four Czech-language studio albums, and received platinum and gold certifications for them, both in Poland and the Czech Republic. Farna is the youngest commercially successful singer in the Czech Republic. She was a judge on the '' Czech&Slovak SuperStar'' in 2013, the ''X Factor'' (Poland) in 2014, and is currently a judge on ''Idol'' (Poland). Biography Farna was born on 12 August 1993 into a Polish family residing in the Vendryně village close to Třinec, Czech Republic. She attended a Polish elementary school in Vendryně, art school for five years and a Polish Gymnasium in Český Těšín. She also attended a dance school and learned to play the piano. Kasia Cerekwicka (born ''Katarzyna Cerekwicka'' 17 March 1980 in Koszalin, Poland) is a Polish pop singer. She has been singing since she was a little girl. In 1997, at the age of 17, she won the popular Polish show '' Szansa na sukces'' ("Chance for Success"). Career She has recorded four albums. The first was ''Mozaika'' from 2000. In 2007 Kasia admitted she does not like ''Mozaika'' and is not surprised that it wasn't popular in Poland. Her next album was ''Feniks'' ("Fenix"). Karolina Amirian (born in Świnoujście) is a Polish pop and alternative singer and music producer. In 2013, she was nominated for the Polish music award Fryderyk in the category Debut of the Year. Career Kari moved to Warsaw at the age of 13 to study in a music school. She graduated from Fryderyk Chopin University of Music and Postgraduate Jazz Studium in Warsaw. Her first studio album ''Daddy Says I'm Special'' was released in December 2011 as Kari Amirian through Nextpop and Polish music journalists called it one of the most interesting recent debuts. Katarzyna Magdalena Rooijens (née Szczot; born 5 November 1967 in Warsaw), professionally known as Kayah, is a Polish singer-songwriter performing a variety of music genres, including pop, soul, jazz, world and dance. She has also experimented with disco, funk, electronica as well as Balkan and Jewish music. Kayah released her first self-written album in 1995 and has since established herself as one of the most critically and commercially successful Polish singers. She is one of the most awarded artists by the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry (ZPAV) and has placed fourth on Polish music magazine '' Machina''s list of "50 best Polish female singers". Justyna Majkowska (born Zduńska Wola, 17 July 1977) is a Polish singer. Her career started with the band Erato. Next, she was a member of Ich Troje, which represented Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga Riga (; lv, Rīga , liv, Rīgõ) is the capital and largest city of Latvia and is home to 605,802 inhabitants which is a third of Latvia's population. Julia Marcell (born 1982) is a Polish singer-songwriter and pianist. Career Marcell was born Julia Górniewicz in Olsztyn, Poland in 1982. Her father, Józef Górniewicz, is a Polish pedagogue and was the dean of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn from 2008 to 2012. She wrote songs since she was 14 years old, and circa 2007 she learned how to play the piano. In 2007, she released her first album, the currently out-of-print extended play ''Storm''. In October 2007, with the help of fans from around the world, she obtained a sum of US$50,000 (through the website Sellaband) to record her first studio album. Irena Wiśniewska-Santor (Polish pronunciation: ; born 9 December 1934), known professionally as Irena Santor, is a Polish singer, musical performer and actress. Her career started in 1950. She's noted for singing in clear mezzo-soprano, considered one of Poland's biggest icons and is referred to as an influence for younger singers. From 1951 to 1959 Irena Santor (then Wiśniewska) was a member and the main soloist of the Polish folk group Mazowsze, with whom she toured all continents. Gabriela Konstancja Kulka-Stajewska (known as Gaba Kulka, born in 1979 in Warsaw, Poland) is an independent artist, songwriter, and performer. Biography Gabriela Kulka comes from a family of musicians, with her father being a renowned Polish violinist and professor. Although she initially trained in violin for eight years, she eventually gravitated towards the piano for her songwriting and performances. Her early albums, "Between Miss Scylla and a Hard Place" (2003) and "Out" (2006), were independently produced. Additionally, she contributed to a compilation of covers titled "Songs for Wolf."
