This is a list of annual Pac-12 Conference football champions. Co-champions are listed with the conference's Rose Bowl representative first. Pacific Coast Conference results are included. Since 2011, the Pac-12 Football Championship Game has determined the champion. PCC champions were awarded the Schwabacher Trophy. Rose Bowl Game
The Rose Bowl Game is an annual American college football bowl game, usually played on January 1 (New Year's Day) at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. When New Year's Day falls on a Sunday, the game is played on Monday, January 2. The Rose Bowl Game is nicknamed "The Granddaddy of Them All" because it is the oldest currently operating bowl game. 1920 California Golden Bears Football Team
The 1920 California Golden Bears football team was an American football team that represented the University of California, Berkeley as a member of the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC) during the 1920 college football season. In their fifth year under head coach Andy Smith, the team compiled a 9–0 record (3–0 against PCC opponents), shut out seven of nine opponents, won the PCC championship, defeated Ohio State in the 1921 Rose Bowl, and outscored its opponents by a total of 510 to 14. There was no contemporaneous system in 1920 for determining a national champion. However, Cal was retroactively named as the national champion by the College Football Researchers Association, Helms Athletic Foundation, Houlgate System, National Championship Foundation, and Jeff Sagarin. 1926 Rose Bowl
The 1926 Rose Bowl Game was held on January 1, 1926, in Pasadena, California. The game is commonly referred to as "The Game That Changed The South." The game featured the Alabama Crimson Tide, making their first bowl appearance, and the Washington Huskies. The Crimson Tide was led by Johnny Mack Brown, and the Huskies by George "Wildcat" Wilson. Alabama were victorious 20–19, as they scored all 20 points in the third quarter. With the victory, the Crimson Tide were awarded with their first National Championship. The 1925 Washington Huskies football team was an American football team that represented the University of Washington as a member of the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC) during the 1925 PCC football season. In its fifth season under head coach Enoch Bagshaw, the team compiled a 10–1–1 record, won the PCC championship, lost to Alabama in the 1926 Rose Bowl, and outscored all opponents by a total of 480 to 59. The team was ranked No. 7 in the nation in the Dickinson System ratings released in January 1926. Fullback Elmer Tesreau was the team captain. Glenn Scobey Warner (April 5, 1871 – September 7, 1954), most commonly known as Pop Warner, was an American college football coach at various institutions who is responsible for several key aspects of the modern game. Included among his innovations are the single and double wing formations (precursors of the modern spread and shotgun formations), the three point stance and the body blocking technique. Fellow pioneer coach Amos Alonzo Stagg called Warner "one of the excellent creators". He was inducted as a coach into the College Football Hall of Fame as part of its inaugural class in 1951. He also contributed to a junior football program which became known as Pop Warner Little Scholars, a popular youth American football organization. The 1924 Stanford football team represented Stanford University in the 1924 college football season. Stanford's first year head coach was Pop Warner, hired from Pittsburgh, where he had led the Panthers to three national championships. The Washington & Jefferson Presidents football team represents Washington & Jefferson College in collegiate level football. The team competes in NCAA Division III and is affiliated with the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
