List Of Olympic Venues In Figure Skating
For the Summer and Winter Olympics, there are 27 venues that have been or will be used for figure skating. This is one of two sports in the Winter Olympics to debut in the Summer Olympics with ice hockey being the other. The first venue for the event took place during the 1908 Games was held indoors. Twelve years later, the venue joined ice hockey as another Winter Olympic sport in the Summer Olympics. For the first two Winter Olympics, figure skating was held outdoors. With figure skating being held outdoors, there were weather concerns with thawing for the first two Winter Games. The 1924 Winter Olympics, officially known as the I Olympic Winter Games (french: Iers Jeux olympiques d'hiver) and commonly known as Chamonix 1924 ( frp, Chamôni 1924), were a winter multi-sport event which was held in 1924 in Chamonix, France. Originally held in association with the 1924 Summer Olympics, the sports competitions were held at the foot of Mont Blanc in Chamonix, and Haute-Savoie, France between 25 January and 5 February 1924. The Games were organized by the French Olympic Committee, and were originally reckoned as the "International Winter Sports Week." Palais De Glace D'Anvers
The Palais de Glace d'Anvers (Ijspaleis Antwerpen) was a sports venue located in Antwerp, Belgium. Measuring long by wide, it hosted both the Figure skating at the 1920 Summer Olympics, figure skating and Ice hockey at the 1920 Summer Olympics, ice hockey events for the 1920 Summer Olympics. The building was demolished in 2016. Later the building was converted for commercial purposes. It served, among other things, as a Renault garage, as a storage place for the vehicles of the Antwerp Taxi Maatschappij and as a parking garage under the name ''Garage Leopold''. In 2016, the building was demolished for the construction of new apartment buildings. With it, one of the last physical relics of the 1920 Olympics disappeared. Prince's Skating Club was an ice rink in the Knightsbridge area of London, England. It saw a number of firsts for ice hockey in Britain and Europe.
