Ohio Valley Wrestling has held a variety of professional wrestling tournaments competed for by wrestlers that are a part of their roster. Queen of OVW / Miss OVW Contest The Queen of OVW / Miss OVW contest is a contest where a couple of female wrestlers in OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) are chosen and compete in several competitions. In the finals of the contest, the fans vote for the winner. The inaugural winner was ODB who is also the first ever OVW Women's Champion. The latest winner is Lovely Lylah who defeated Jessie Belle, Ray Lynn and Taeler Hendrix in the finals of the 2013 contest. Ohio Valley Wrestling
Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) is an American professional wrestling promotion and former developmental promotion based in Louisville, Kentucky. The company is currently run by Al Snow and Matt Jones and Louisville mayor elect, Craig Greenberg. OVW was initially a member promotion of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) from its inception in 1993 until 2000, when it became the primary developmental territory for the World Wrestling Federation, which is now known today as the WWE. It remained in this role from 2000 until February 7, 2008, when the promotion became Independent circuit, unaffiliated. In November 2011, OVW became the developmental territory for Impact Wrestling (then known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling or TNA). The Tate Twins are a professional wrestling tag team made up of brothers Brandon and Brent Tate. They are currently signed with Ring of Honor, where they teamed with Dalton Castle as The Boys and are two-time former ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions. On various occasions in professional wrestling, a single-elimination tournament of varying match types are held, often to determine a championship or number-one contendership therein. It has been known for promotions to use title tournament that are fictitious in nature (that is, the title may have been simply awarded under the pretext of winning a tournament elsewhere) - notable ones include the tournaments that established the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and the WWE United States Championship (the latter when it was the NWA United States Championship). Daniel Briley (born June 30, 1952), better known by the ring name "Nightmare" Danny Davis, is an American retired professional wrestler and referee. He is the founder and former owner of Ohio Valley Wrestling. Career Briley started wrestling in 1977 in the Tennessee territory, where he made a name for himself as "Nightmare" Danny Davis.
