American Football
American football (referred to simply as football in the United States and Canada), also known as gridiron, is a team sport played by two teams of eleven players on a rectangular field with goalposts at each end. The offense, the team with possession of the oval-shaped football, attempts to advance down the field by running with the ball or passing it, while the defense, the team without possession of the ball, aims to stop the offense's advance and to take control of the ball for themselves. The offense must advance at least ten yards in four downs or plays; if they fail, they turn over the football to the defense, but if they succeed, they are given a new set of four downs to continue the drive. Points are scored primarily by advancing the ball into the opposing team's end zone for a touchdown or kicking the ball through the opponent's goalposts for a field goal. Nick Foles
Nicholas Edward Foles (born January 20, 1989) is an American football quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Arizona and was selected in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Initially a backup, Foles was named the team's starter midway through his rookie season. He maintained his starting position through 2013, during which he set the NFL season record for the best touchdown–interception ratio and posted a perfect passer rating in a game. His success led the Eagles to a division title, while also earning him Pro Bowl honors. After an unsuccessful 2014 season, Foles was traded to the St. Louis Rams, where he was released after struggling in his one season. Justin Smith (defensive End)
Justin Smith (born September 30, 1979), nicknamed "the Cowboy", is a former American football defensive end who played in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Missouri, where he was an All-American, and was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals fourth overall in the 2001 NFL Draft. Smith also played for the San Francisco 49ers. William Clay Matthews III (born May 14, 1986) is an American former professional football player who was an outside linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). Jerome Abram Bettis Sr. (born February 16, 1972) is a former American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, primarily with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Charles R. "Buckets" Goldenberg (April 15, 1911 – April 16, 1986) was an All-Pro National Football League (NFL) American football player. He is often credited as the originator of the draw play by forcing Sid Luckman to hand off with his blitzing. Biography Goldenberg was born in Odessa, Russian Empire, and was Jewish. He and his family immigrated to Wisconsin in the United States when he was four years of age. His nickname, a play on "buttocks," was "Buckets." Boob Darling
Bernard "Boob" Darling (November 18, 1903 – March 5, 1968) was an American football player. He played his entire five-year career with the Green Bay Packers and was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 1970.
