This is a List of stations of the Mumbai Suburban Railway, a suburban rail system serving the Mumbai Metropolitan Region in Maharashtra, India.The Mumbai Suburban Railway was opened on 16 April 1853. The system is operated by Western Railway and Central Railway. Each route contains "slow" and "fast" tracks. "Slow" tracks are dedicated tracks for suburban trains, while "fast" tracks are shared with long-distance trains operated by Indian Railways. Some railway stations on the network serve both suburban as well as long-distance trains. The Mumbai Suburban Railway comprises a major 6 line – Western Line, Central Line, Harbour Line, Trans-Harbour Line, Nerul–Uran line and Vasai Road–Roha line. Trans-Harbour Line (Mumbai Suburban Railway)
The Trans-Harbour line is the link Harbour line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway connects between Navi Mumbai and Thane Operates by Central Railway. Its Termini are , , and on the Thane–Vashi and Thane–Panvel Routes. This line is also a double line and therefore doesn't have any fast trains on it. Starts from separate platforms lie at the far east in runs parallel with Central Railway line with crossing over Thane creek until just before the Parsik Tunnel where the line turns downwards and runs until . Harbour Line
The Harbour line is a branch line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway operated by Central Railway. It was named so because it catered to the eastern neighbourhoods along the city's natural harbour. Its termini are Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Goregaon and Panvel on the CSMT-Goregaon, CSMT-Panvel and Panvel-Goregaon routes. The line is a double line and therefore does not have any fast trains on it. The line runs parallel to the Central Railway line till just before Sandhurst Road station where the line turns eastward and runs elevated up till Sewri. At Wadala Road, the line branches into two. The first line joins with the Western line at Mahim and terminates at Goregaon. The second line follows through Mankhurd into the city of Navi Mumbai, where it again branches out into two lines, one going to Thane ( Trans-Harbour Line) and the other to Panvel. Nerul (Pronunciation: eɾuːɭ is an upmarket residential and commercial node in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Nerul is located in the Harbour Line, Trans-Harbour Lines and Nerul-Uran Line of Mumbai local train network where Kharghar and Vashi are the nearby stations. Nerul node is also famous for its parallel-running Palm-Beach Marg. Nerul is quite famous for its gardens like the Rock Garden and state of the art building structures. Geography Nerul's water pond at sector-18 opposite to sector-20 on Jai Bhavani road, is surrounded by residential complexes and a play park for children. The pond is decorated by surrounding coconut trees. During festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Navaratri, idols of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Durga are immersed here in this pond. The Nerul–Uran line which is also known as Port line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway is a railway line serving between CBD Belapur and Nerul in Navi Mumbai with Uran in Navi Mumbai of India, which is attached to the Harbour line. The Mumbai Suburban Railway ( Marathi: मुंबई उपनगरीय रेल्वे) (colloquially called local trains or simply locals) consists of exclusive inner suburban railway lines augmented by commuter rail on main lines serving outlying suburbs to serve the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Spread over , the suburban railway operates 2,342 train services and carries more than 7.5 million commuters daily. The daily commuters constitute around 40% of the daily commuters of Indian Railways.
