Metro (Minnesota), Metro is a public transportation network consisting of light rail and bus rapid transit services covering the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area. The light rail portion of the network, managed by Metro Transit (Minnesota), Metro Transit, has 37 light rail stations in operation across two lines: the Metro Blue Line (Minnesota), Blue Line, running from downtown Minneapolis to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, and the Metro Green Line (Minnesota), Green Line, connecting downtown Minneapolis to downtown Saint Paul. In 2016, the Blue and Green lines respectively provided approximately 10.3 million and 12.7 million rides for a total of 23 million rides across both lines. Warehouse District/Hennepin Avenue Station
The Warehouse District/Hennepin Avenue station is a light rail station on the METRO Blue Line and Green Line in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This was the original northern terminus of the Blue Line until the new Target Field station opened on November 14, 2009 to provide access to the new Northstar Commuter Rail line. The Warehouse District station is located on 5th Street North, between 1st Avenue North and Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. This is a center-platform station with one traffic lane to the south of the platform. Service began at this station when the Blue Line opened on June 26, 2004, and this station is where the opening ceremony was held. The first train departed at 11:00 a.m. on that day. The following is a list of bus routes operating in the Twin Cities metropolitan area. A majority of routes are operated by Metro Transit, but some are operated by suburban "opt-out" providers or are under contract. There are two light rail lines, four bus rapid transit lines, and one commuter rail line. Almost all routes operate within the seven county metro area defined by the Metropolitan Council. Terminal 2–Humphrey station is a light rail station is on the Metro Blue Line. It is the fifteenth stop southbound. This is an island platform station and is typically accessed via a partially covered walkway from Terminal 2 of the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, also known as the Humphrey Terminal. Service began at this station when the second phase of the Blue Line opened on December 4, 2004. The southern portal to the tunnels underneath the airport is located just to the north of this station. It is the only underground station on the Blue Line and is located below ground level at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport. Saint Paul Union Depot is a historic railroad station and intermodal transit hub in the Lowertown neighborhood of the city of Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. It serves light rail, intercity rail, intercity bus, and local bus services. It is the eastern terminus for the METRO Green Line light rail line, with the stop located outside the station's headhouse. It is also the Twin Cities' stop for Amtrak, the national intercity railroad service.
