Flag Of Kosovo
Flag of the Republic of Kosovo ( sq, Flamuri i Republikës së Kosovës, sr, Застава Републике Косово/Zastava Republike Kosovo) was adopted by the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo immediately following the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo of 17 February 2008. The flag design emerged from an international competition, organized by the United Nations-backed Kosovo Unity Team, which attracted almost one thousand entries. The winning design was proposed by Muhamer Ibrahimi. It shows six white stars in an arc above a golden map of Kosovo, all on a blue field., ''Kosovapress'', Priština, 17 February 2008. The stars symbolize Kosovo's six major ethnic groups: Albanians, Serbs, Bosniaks, Turks, Romani, and Gorani. ''Man of Soil'' ( sq, Njeriu Prej Dheu) is a 1984 Kosovar drama -thriller film directed by Agim Sopi. The movie is about the Albanian immigrants in Turkey, their struggle to adjust to the new lands and their yearning for the motherland. The director accurately portrays the gloomy atmosphere that prevailed during those times. The score for the film was composed by the renowned Kosovo-born, Albanian composer Rauf Dhomi. Plot Sokol, a middle aged man, together with his family, emigrates from Kosova to Turkey due to sociopolitical pressures. There he faces a foreign and unknown world. His son Bardhi, emigrates again from Turkey to Germany in order to work as a gastarbeiter and keep his family financially solvent. Sokol, remains in Turkey to look after his son's wife and children. After a while Sokol's wife dies and he remains alone with his son's family. His daughter in law, the wife of Bardhi, lives an intemperate and double life, which Sokol can not accept. The Serbian film industry produced over twenty feature films in 2014. This article fully lists all non-pornographic films, including short films, that had a release date in that year and which were at least partly made by Serbia. It does not include films first released in previous years that had release dates in 2014. List Of Kosovan Submissions For The Academy Award For Best Foreign Language Film
Kosovo submitted a film for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film for the first time in 2014. The award is handed out annually by the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to a feature length, feature-length motion picture produced outside the United States that contains primarily non-English language, English dialogue. It was not created until the 29th Academy Awards, 1956 Academy Awards, in which a competitive Academy Award of Merit, known as the Best Foreign Language Film Award, was created for non-English speaking films, and has been given annually since. Submissions The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited the film industries of various countries to submit their best film for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film since 1956. It was screened in the main competition section of the 65th Berlin International Film Festival. Plot The story takes place in Albania. In a rugged, impoverished world where women are treated as chattel, some women escape their hard, gender-determined fate by claiming the status of “sworn virgins” before a dozen male elders, after which they don male garb and live as men. They are then granted the privilege to engage in all male activities such as carrying rifles and hunting, but they are prohibited from engaging in sexual activity with either gender. In Albania's remote mountain villages, this custom dates back at least a couple of centuries is still practiced.
