Cinema Of Karnataka
Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. The 1934 film ''Sati Sulochana'' directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and was the first motion picture screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. The film was produced by Chamanlal Doongaji, who in 1932 founded ''South India Movietone'' in Bangalore. Major literary works have been adapted to the Kannada screen such as B. V. ''Last Bus'' (ಲಾಸ್ಟ್ ಬಸ್ pronounced ''lāst bas'') is a 2016 Indian Kannada-language psychological thriller film written, co-produced and directed by S D Arvind who is also the music composer. It stars Avinash Narasimharaju, Meghashree Bhagavatar, Manasa Joshi and Samarth Narasimharaju in the lead roles. The movie is dubbed in to Telugu as ‘Adivilo Last Bus’ in the same year. The song "Doori Doori" featured in the BBC Asian Network radio centre which was facilitated by Narayan Konda. After receiving rave reviews, the film is set to be dubbed in French language and released across France. This is the first Kannada film to be dubbed in French. Dr Anant Nagarkatte (born 4 September 1948) is an Indian actor whose predominant contribution has been in Kannada cinema. He has acted in over 300 films which include over 200 Kannada films as well as Hindi, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam and English films. He has featured in theatre plays, parallel cinema and television shows. Nag made his feature film debut through ''Sankalpa'' (1973) directed by Prof. P.V Nanjaraj Urs. Amulya (born as Moulya) is a former Indian actress who appears in Kannada films. She made her debut as a child artist in the early 2000s and appeared in a lead role in 2007 with ''Cheluvina Chittara''. ''Maduveya Mamatheya Kareyole'' is a 2016 Indian Kannada-language romantic comedy film written directed by Kaviraj in his directorial debut. It stars Suraj Gowda and Amulya in the lead roles whilst Anant Nag and Achyuth Kumar feature in supporting roles. The plot revolves around the families of the two friends who, intending to convert their friendship into a relationship, are elated when their children fall in love with each other and eventually marry upon encountering certain familial disputes. Produced under the banner Thoogudeepa Productions, music for the film was scored by V. Harikrishna, who also composed the soundtrack. Cinematography was done by K. S.
