Cinema Of Karnataka
Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. The 1934 film ''Sati Sulochana'' directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and was the first motion picture screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. The film was produced by Chamanlal Doongaji, who in 1932 founded ''South India Movietone'' in Bangalore. Major literary works have been adapted to the Kannada screen such as B. V. Saloni Aswani
Saloni Aswani is an Indian actress and model who appears in Telugu and Kannada films. After finishing her education, Saloni ventured into modelling, appearing in various television advertisements. She went on to pursue a career in acting, debuting in the Hindi film ''Dil Pardesi Ho Gayaa'' (2003), following which she starred in several Telugu films, failing to achieve notable commercial success. ''Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara'' (), also referred to as ''Idhaaba'' or more commonly as ''Balakumara'', is a 2013 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language comedy film, written and directed by Gokul (director), Gokul. Rangayana Raghu
Kotturu Chikkarangappa Raghunath (born 17 April 1965), known by his screen name Rangayana Raghu, is an Indian film and stage actor, known for his work in Kannada cinema. Portraying mostly comic and negative-shaded characters, he has appeared in over 250 films. Prior to acting in films, he worked as a stage actor with B. V. Karanth's theatre group Rangayana, from 1988 to 1999. He made his debut in films in 1995 with ''Suggi'', which got shelved. Raghu got his major break in films after appearing as an antagonist in ''Dhumm'' (2002). B R Vijay Kumar, who is professionally known as Duniya Vijay and Duniya Viji, is an Indian actor who appears in Kannada films. He began his career playing small roles until he got his big break in '' Duniya'' (2007). He is noted for his performances in ''Chanda'' (2007), ''Junglee'' (2009), ''Johny Mera Naam Preethi Mera Kaam'' (2011) and '' Jayammana Maga'' (2013). Career Vijay began his carreer in films with a role in Yograj Bhat's ''Ranga SSLC'' with Sudeep. ''Jackson'' is a 2015 Indian Kannada romantic comedy film directed by Sanath Kumar, a former editor who worked mostly with director Yogaraj Bhat, making his directorial debut. The film stars Duniya Vijay, Paavana Gowda along with Rangayana Raghu in the lead roles. The film is an official remake of the Tamil blockbuster film ''Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara'' (2013) which was directed by Gokul. The film opened on the screens on 15 January 2015. Production Development Producers Sundar p Gowda and Anil bought the remake of the Tamil film just a week after its release.
