A journalist is an individual that collects/gathers information in form of text, audio, or pictures, processes them into a news-worthy form, and disseminates it to the public. The act or process mainly done by the journalist is called journalism. Roles Journalists can be broadcast, print, advertising, and public relations personnel, and, depending on the form of journalism, the term ''journalist'' may also include various categories of individuals as per the roles they play in the process. This includes reporters, correspondents, citizen journalists, editors, editorial-writers, columnists, and visual journalists, such as photojournalists (journalists who use the medium of photography). Sergio Atzeni
Sergio Atzeni (14 October 1952 in Capoterra – 6 September 1995 in Carloforte) was an Italian writer. Life and career Born in Capoterra, southern Sardinia, Atzeni lived in Orgosolo during his childhood until he moved to Cagliari where, as a journalist, he worked for some of the most important Sardinian newspapers. He also became a member of the Italian Communist Party, but later left the party, being disillusioned with politics. In 1986, he left Sardinia and travelled across Europe, but in the last part of his life he settled in Turin where he wrote his most important novels, including ''Il figlio di Bakunìn'' (''Bakunin's Son''), ''Passavamo sulla terra leggeri'' and ''Il quinto passo è l'addio''. In 1995, he died in Carloforte while swimming in the sea during a holiday back in Sardinia. All of Atzeni's works are set in Sardinia and were written in Italian. Enrico Benzing
Enrico Benzing (born 17 June 1932) is an Italian engineer and journalist, son of the writer Mario Benzing. He wrote for the daily newspaper '' La Gazzetta dello Sport'' as Motoring-Editor and Formula One races reporter. Since 1974 he writes for ''Il Giornale'', created by Indro Montanelli, with technical contributions about the Formula One races. In 1963 he won the first edition of the " Dino Ferrari" Prize. From 1978 to 1980 he represented Italy in the Technical Commission of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile. Stefano Benni (born 12 August 1947) is an Italian satirical writer, poet and journalist. His books have been translated into around 20 foreign languages and scored notable commercial success. 2.5 million copies of his books have been sold in Italy. Maurizio Belpietro (born 10 May 1958) is an Italian journalist and television presenter. Biography Belpietro was born in Castenedolo, near Brescia, but he grew up in the town of Palazzolo sull'Oglio. He started his career as a journalist writing for the local newspaper '' Bresciaoggi'' in 1975. In 1994 he moved on to ''il Giornale'' with the journalist Vittorio Feltri and returned few years later after a period as editor of the newspaper '' Il Tempo'' in 1996. Oliviero Beha (14 January 1949 – 13 May 2017) was an Italian journalist, writer, essayist, TV, and radio host. Biography Beha was born in Florence, and began work as a journalist in 1973 for the sports newspaper ''Tuttosport'' and for ''Paese Sera''. During his stay in Madrid, he graduated and also practiced athletics for Real Madrid. From 1976 to 1985, he worked for the left-oriented newspaper ''La Repubblica'', dealing with sport and social themes, and wrote articles for several editions of the Olympic Games. Cesare Battisti (politician)
Cesare Battisti (4 February 1875 – 12 July 1916) was an Italian patriot, geographer, socialist politician and journalist of Austrian citizenship, who became a prominent Irredentist at the start of World War I. Biography He was born the son of a merchant at Trento, a city with a predominantly Italian-speaking population, which at the time was part of the Cisleithanian crown land of Tyrol in Austria-Hungary. Battisti attended the University of Florence, where he became a follower of the Italian irredentism movement, aiming at the unification of his Trentino homeland with the Kingdom of Italy, though contrary to activists like Ettore Tolomei and Gabriele d'Annunzio he did not claim the predominantly German-speaking areas of South Tyrol up to the Brenner Pass.
