International Union Of Socialist Youth
The International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) is an international organization, founded in 1907, whose activities include publications, support of member organizations and the organization of meetings. It was formed as the youth wing of the Second International under the name Socialist Youth International at the International Socialist Congress, Stuttgart 1907. IUSY now has 145 member organisations - including 122 full members and 23 observer members - from 106 countries. IUSY gained status as an international youth NGO with UN ECOSOC consultative status in 1993. History On 24–27 August 1907, a meeting of 20 youth representatives from 13 countries met in the German city of Stuttgart and founded the Socialist Youth International as the youth organization of the Second International. The SDP Youth Forum ( hr, Forum mladih SDP-a, FM SDP) is the youth organisation of the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP). According to Youth Forum statute, it is an organisation that is committed to building a democratic society in which solidarity, freedom, equality, social justice and quality education will be available to everyone. It sees a society in which the dignity of the individual will be guaranteed in social, legal and economic certainty. Its goal is to enable young people to participate in public life and decision-making process. Youth Forum members are able to get involved in the SDP through local policy events, campaigning or by attending events and social gatherings. Akbayan! Youth (A!Y) is the youth wing of the Akbayan Citizens' Action Party, a democratic socialist and progressive political party in the Philippines. As a collective of youth activists and different youth organizations, A!Y has been in existence since 1998 alongside its mother party. Young Labour ( mi, Te Rangatahi Reipa) is the combined youth wing and student wing of the New Zealand Labour Party. It hosts an annual conference and holds a range of additional national events, including fringe sessions at the Labour Party's annual conference. All Labour Party members aged between 15 and 29 years old are members of Young Labour. Activities Young Labour has worked on issues ranging from climate change and improved rental housing standards to liquor law reform and to opposing voluntary student membership.
