Bea Gorton
Bea A. Gorton (July 27, 1946 – July 14, 2020) was an American college basketball coach. Gorton was the first women's coach of the Indiana Hoosiers women's basketball at Indiana University, starting in 1971. She was a coach in the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW). She led IU to the AIAW Final Four in 1973, and the AIAW Elite Eight in 1972 and 1974. After that year she took the Indiana Hoosiers women's basketball to the National Women's Invitation Tournament. After she left IU after the 1975–76 basketball season, Gorton advised the AIAW organization until 1980. Gorton was inducted into the school's Hall of Honor in 1988 and Indiana's Hall of Fame in 2014. 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2019 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 64 teams to determine the national champion for the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The 38th annual edition of the tournament began on March 22, and concluded with the championship game on April 7 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, with the University of South Florida serving as host. The tournament field was announced on March 18. Three schools, Colonial champion Towson, MEAC champion Bethune–Cookman and Southland champion Abilene Christian, made their first appearance in the tournament. The 2018 Women's National Invitation Tournament was an annual single-elimination tournament of 64 NCAA Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2018 Women's NCAA tournament. The tournament committee announced the 64-team field on March 12, following the selection of the NCAA Tournament field. The tournament began on March 14 and ended on March 31, with the championship game televised on the CBS Sports Network. In the championship game, Indiana defeated Virginia Tech, 65–57. 2016 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2016 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament was played between March and April 2016, with the Final Four played April 3 & 5. The regional locations were four neutral sites: Bridgeport, Connecticut, Dallas, Lexington, Kentucky, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Final Four was played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Connecticut won their fourth consecutive national championship, defeating Syracuse 82–51. Teri Moren
Teri Marie Moren (born April 14, 1969) is the current head coach of the Indiana University women's basketball team. Moren's Hoosiers won the 2018 Women's National Invitation Tournament. As an assistant coach she won a gold medal at the 2022 FIBA Under-18 Women's Americas Championship. Moren was named the 2016 Big Ten Conference Women's Basketball Coach of the Year and was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014. High school playing career Moren played high school basketball at Seymour High School, which boasts the nation's 2nd largest high school gym, playing for Indiana Hall of Fame coach Donna Sullivan. Moren won four sectional championships, two regional titles, and an appearance at the 1987 state basketball finals.
