List Of Indian Football First Tier Top Scorers
The top tier in Indian football today is the Indian Super League, replacing the I-League for the 2022–23 season. The list includes records from National Football League or I-League ( 1996–97 – 2021–22) and the Indian Super League ( 2017–18 – present). Since the 1996–97 season, the first year of top flight football, 20 different individual players have been named top scorer. Indian Super League
The Indian Super League (ISL) is an Indian professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Indian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), and their commercial partners Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), it is officially known as Hero Indian Super League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp. The league currently comprises 11 clubs. Each season of the tournament generally runs from October to March. During the league stage of the competition, each club plays against all the other clubs in a round-robin style. At the end of the league stage, the team with the most points gets declared the Premiers and presented with a trophy named League Winners Shield, along with the runners up to play in the play-offs, while the next best four clubs qualify to play qualifying playoffs to join the top two in the playoffs. Igor Shkvyrin (russian: Игорь Анатольевич Шквырин, ; born 29 April 1963 in Tashkent) is a retired Uzbekistani professional footballer who played for several clubs in Europe and Asia and the Uzbekistan national football team. He was most recently the head coach of Sogdiana Jizzakh. Playing career He played several seasons in the Soviet Top League with FC Pakhtakor Tashkent and moved to Israel where he played for Hapoel Tel Aviv F.C. and Malaysia where he played for Pahang FA. The 2005–06 National Football League, also known as the ONGC National Football League for sponsorship reasons, was the tenth season of the National Football League, the top Indian professional league for association football clubs, since its inception in 1996. Sporting Clube de Goa, simply known as Sporting Goa (also known by its abbreviation SCG), is an Indian professional football club based in Panaji, in the Indian state of Goa, that competes in Goa Professional League. MacPherlin Dudu Omagbemi (born 18 July 1987, in Lagos, Nigeria), commonly known as Dudu, is a Nigerian footballer. Career Dudu started his career in India in 2001. He is the most tenacious player India has ever seen. When playing in the Indian Football League he had many great successes with Sporting Clube de Goa even becoming the league's top goalscorer. During his time in India he was involved in a scandal when he signed a contract with two different clubs simultaneously; one with SC Goa and another one with Mahindra United. The issue was later settled between the two clubs. He also had few other disputes with SC Goa later on concerning similar incidents. Cristiano Sebastião de Lima Júnior (5 June 1979 – 5 December 2004) was a Brazilian footballer who played as a forward for Dempo, before an on-field collision in the Federation Cup finals, with the goalkeeper of his opposing team led to his death.
