List Of Hockey East Three-Stars Award
The Hockey East Three-Stars Award is an annual award given out at the conclusion of the Hockey East regular season to the player who has the highest number of points with respect to being named a star-of-the-game. At the conclusion of each game the members of the media decide the three stars of the game, awarding five points for being named as the first star, three points for a second star and one point for a third star. Only conference games are counted in the standings for the Three-Stars Award. The Three-Stars Award was first bestowed in 2001 and every year thereafter. The overall standings have resulted in a tie six times, the latest instance being the second three-way tie in 2020–21. Hockey East
The Hockey East Association, also known as Hockey East, is a college ice hockey conference which operates entirely in New England. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. Hockey East came into existence in 1984 for men's hockey when most of its current members split from what is today known as ECAC Hockey, after disagreements with the Ivy League members. The women's league, the WHEA, began play in 2002. On October 5, 2011, the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish (an ACC member outside football) announced they would be joining Hockey East as the conference's first non-New England school in 2013 after the CCHA folded. On March 22, 2016, Notre Dame subsequently announced their men's hockey team would leave Hockey East for the Big Ten Conference at the start of the 2017-2018 season. Goaltender
In ice hockey, the goaltender (commonly referred to as the goalie) is the player responsible for preventing the hockey puck from entering their team's net, thus preventing the opposing team from scoring. The goaltender mostly plays in or near the area in front of the net called the ''Ice hockey rink#Crease, goal crease'' (often referred to simply as '' the crease''). Goaltenders tend to stay at or beyond the top of the crease to cut down on the angle of shots. In the modern age of goaltending there are two common styles, butterfly and hybrid (hybrid is a mix of the traditional stand-up style and butterfly technique). Bryan Ewing
Bryan "Boomer" Ewing (born January 23, 1985) is an American ice hockey player for the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Ewing began his professional career in 2008 with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL. Playing career Bryan Ewing attended Duxbury High School and Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, graduating from the latter. He was named a Second Team New England All-Star as a senior. After graduation, he enrolled at Boston University and played there for four seasons. He had his most success during his senior season when he led the team in assists, finished second in goals and points, and was named an NCAA Second Team All-American. John Curry (ice Hockey)
John Clifford Curry (born February 27, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played for the Hamburg Freezers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, and with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was also part of the Penguins team when they won the Stanley Cup in 2009. Playing career Amateur John Curry played for the Breck School Mustangs, where he compiled a 1.80 GAA as team captain and MVP in his senior season of 2001–02. Cory Schneider
Cory Franklin Schneider (born March 18, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Bridgeport Islanders in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played for the Vancouver Canucks and New Jersey Devils. Schneider was selected in the first round, 26th overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Following his draft, he began a three-year tenure with the Boston College Eagles, winning two Lamoriello Trophies as Hockey East champions and making two NCAA Final appearances during his college career. Chris Collins (born June 8, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey forward who played most notably in the American Hockey League (AHL) and abroad in Europe. Ryan Patrick Shannon (born March 2, 1983) is a former American professional ice hockey player, who played in the National Hockey League (NHL). He is currently serving as the head coach of the boys varsity ice hockey team at the Taft School. Patrick Campbell Eaves (born May 1, 1984) is a Canadian-born American former professional ice hockey forward.
