Alime Abdenanova
Alime Seitosmanovna Abdenanova ( crh, Alime Seitosman qızı Abdenanova; 4 January 1924 — 5 April 1944) — was a Crimean Tatar scout in the Red Army during World War II. After the German occupation of Crimea began in 1943 she led her reconnaissance group in the collection of intelligence about the positions of German and Romanian troops throughout the Kerch Peninsula, for which she was awarded the Order of the Red Banner. After the group was arrested by the Germans in February Abdenanova was tortured for over a month but refused to reveal any information to her captors. At the age of twenty she was executed in the outskirts of Simferopol on 5 April 1944. On 1 September 2014 by decree of Vladimir Putin she was posthumously declared a Hero of the Russian Federation, making her the sixteenth woman and first Crimean Tatar awarded the title. Marat Alykov
Marat Raviliyevich Alykov (russian: Марат Равильевич Алыков; born 20 August 1959) is a Russian pilot. Alykov, an ethnic Tatar, was born on 20 August 1959 in Kapustin Yar in the Vladimirovskaya District of Astrakhan Oblast to a military family. He joined the Soviet Army in 1976, and in 1980 graduated from the Kachinsk Military Aviation School. Alykov flew the Sukhoi Su-17 between 1983 and 1984 in the Soviet–Afghan War and was awarded the Order of the Red Star. After leaving the Air Force, Alykov graduated from the Test Pilot School and became a Mikoyan test pilot. For his actions in testing aircraft, Alykov was awarded the title Hero of the Russian Federation in 1998. Alykov currently works as the general director of the aviation maintenance company International Center of Business Aviation. Vladimir Nikolaevich Alekseev (russian: Влади́мир Никола́евич Алексе́ев; , in Kimiltev, Irkutsk Governorate, Russian Empire – 24 July 1999, in Moscow, Russia) was a Soviet admiral. Biography Early life Alekseev was the son of Nikolai Alekseev, a doctor and Bolshevik leader, who received the title Hero of Socialist Labor in 1963 for his contribution to the public health system in Siberia. He became a sailor in the merchant navy when he was 15. In 1933 he joined the Red Navy, and graduated from the Maritime Academy in 1935 to become a submarine navigator. Afterwards he served as the chief navigation officer of the 3rd flotilla in the Pacific Fleet. In August 1938 he was dismissed and arrested in the Great Purge but rehabilitated in 1939.
