The Gaon Album Chart is a South Korean record chart that ranks the best-selling albums and EPs in South Korea. It is part of the Gaon Music Chart, which launched in February 2010. The data is compiled by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Music Content Industry Association based upon weekly/monthly physical album sales by six major South Korean distributors: Kakao M, SM Entertainment, Sony Music Korea, Warner Music Korea, Universal Music and Stone Music Entertainment. The Circle Album Chart, previously known as the Gaon Album Chart, is a record chart ranking the 100 most popular albums, extended plays and single albums in South Korea based on their Record sales, pure sales. It is a part of the Circle Chart, previously known as the Gaon Chart. It compiles shipments in weekly, monthly and year-end format with detailed album sales. History The Gaon Album Chart was launched as a part of the Gaon Chart in February 2010 by Korea Music Content Association and South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In February 2011, Gaon Chart published information on both online and offline albums sales of 2010, including a detailed breakdown of online chart data and was the first time that offline album sales was released since 2008 when the Music Industry Association of Korea stopped compiling data. ''All Light'' is the debut Korean-language studio album by South Korean boy band Astro. It was released on January 16, 2019, through Fantagio Music. The album was released following a hiatus due to internal issues at their label. It debuted atop the Gaon Album Chart and reached the top 10 of the US ''Billboard'' World Albums chart. Background The lead single from the album, "All Night", was called a "soulful dance track" with a "snapping beat guided by groovy synths", a "dynamic beat drop" and a "rhythmic chorus" by ''Billboard''.
