Al Anood Al Obaidly
Al Anood Al Obeidli (born 1990) is an Emirati visual artist, known for her paintings and collage. Biography Al Obeidli studied visual arts from Abu Dhabi, UAE. The point of departure for all her work is collage. She has a degree in Visual Arts from the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises at Zayed University, and has showcased her work there. Her art has also been exhibited at Abu Dhabi’s Tashkeel Gallery, the East-East: UAE Meets Japan exhibition, The (fourth) March Project, The Salama bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship, and From Barcelona to Abu Dhabi: Works from the MACBA Art Collection. Al Obaidly graduated from the Salama Bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation Emerging Artists Fellowship Programme. Najat Makki
Najat Makki (born 1956) is an Emirati visual artist. She is a member of the Dubai Cultural Council. and one of the pioneers in Emirati contemporary art scene. Education Makki was the first Emirati woman to earn a government scholarship to study art abroad in 1977. She obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees in relief sculpture and metal from the College of Fine Arts in Cairo, where she also received her doctorate in the philosophy of art in 2001. Influences Najat Makki was influenced by pioneer Egyptian artists such as Mokhtar, Mohamed Saeed, Hamed Nada, Brothers Wanly, Alsajini and Saed Alsader. Najat’s creativity also inspired by the local Emirates environment such as the desert, the sea and folklore. Maisoon Al Saleh
Maisoon Al Saleh is an Emirati visual artist based out of Dubai. Her artistic style is surrealism with commentary on modern and traditional Emirati culture. Her paintings often feature the skeletons of humans and animals. Early life and education Al Saleh was born in 1988 in Dubai where her family lived in a home they built off of Sheikh Zayed Road. At the age of 8, she began painting with oil paints on canvas with the help of her aunt, who was also an artist. She received a degree in interior design from Zayed University in January 2010. She began painting images of bones and skeletons around the age of 16 after she had an X-ray taken on her back during a medical check-up. Al Saleh uses various mediums which include acrylic on canvas, mixed media for installations, and fiberglass and mixed media for her sculptures. Career Al Saleh began her career as an artist in 2008.
