The Dutch Top 40 ( nl, Nederlandse Top 40) is a weekly music chart compiled by ''Stichting Nederlandse Top 40''. It started as a radio program titled "Veronica Top 40", on the offshore station Radio Veronica in 1965. It remained "The Veronica Top 40" until 1974, when the station was forced to stop broadcasting. Joost den Draaijer initiated the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The show currently airs on Fridays from 2 to 6 PM on Qmusic. History On January 2, 1965, the first Top 40 was compiled, with its first #1 hit "''I Feel Fine''" by The Beatles. In September 1974, the Stichting Nederlandse Top 40 bought the Top 40 and named it ''De Nederlandse Top 40''. Guys 'n' Dolls
Guys 'n' Dolls were a UK pop group, initially comprising a three-girl/three-boy line-up and later becoming two-girl/two-boy. In the mid-1970s, they scored UK top-ten hits with the singles " There's a Whole Lot of Loving" and "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me". In the late 1970s they found further success in the Netherlands, where they had a number-one hit with "You're My World". Career Guys 'n' Dolls were formed in November 1974, after Ammo Productions held auditions for three young men and three young women to perform as a vocal group. The six original members were Paul Griggs, David Van Day, Dominic Grant, Thereza Bazar, Martine Howard and Julie Forsyth (daughter of entertainer Bruce Forsyth). Petrus Antonius Laurentius Kartner (11 April 1935 – 8 November 2022) was a Dutch musician, singer-songwriter and record producer who performed under the stage name Vader Abraham (''Father Abraham''). He wrote around 1600 songs. Early life and songwriting Kartner was born on 11 April 1935. He started his singing career at the age of eight, by winning a local festival. He lived with his family in Amsterdam and worked in a chocolate factory. Kartner worked as a promoter and producer at record label Dureco with Annie de Reuver, with whom he formed Duo X. He was a member of the band Corry & de Rekels, which sold over one million records in the 1960s. Eddy Ouwens (born 30 May 1946, Rotterdam), also known as Danny Mirror, is a Dutch musician and record producer. Overview He was a founder member in 1966 of the Rotterdam-based group, Eddy Nelson & the Eddysons. After a few hits he left to work as a producer and produced Teach-In, Bolland & Bolland and The Shoes. In 1970, he released the single, "Everybody's Nobody" / "Every Little Sigh Becomes a Lie", under the name Eddy Owens. Ouwens co-wrote the Netherlands Eurovision Song Contest entries in 1975 ("Ding-A-Dong" performed by Teach-In), and 1978 ("'t Is OK" performed by Harmony).
