Sandy Rodriguez
Sandy Rodriguez was born in 1975 in National City, California. She is a Los Angeles based artist who grew up on the US-Mexico border, in Tijuana, San Diego, and Los Angeles. She has exhibited her works with numerous museums and galleries, including the Denver Art Museum, The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Garden, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, MOCA Busan Busan Bienniale, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Art+Practice, and Self Help Graphics. Eric Gottesman (artist)
Everything Goes Cold is an American industrial band from California. Their lead singer, Eric Gottesman, is notable as a founding member of Industrial Metal band Psyclon Nine, and a live musician with Ayria, Caustic, XP8, Unter Null, and a number of other industrial bands. Everything Goes Cold has released two full-length albums to date, 2009's ''vs. General Failure'' ( Bit Riot Records,) and 2014's ''Black Out the Sun'' (Metropolis Records,) as well as two remix EPs and several digital singles. Both albums met with critical acclaim within the industrial music community. Ghana Think Tank is a public art project founded in 2006. They are a global network, with think tanks located in Ghana, Cuba, Serbia, Mexico, and El Salvador. Their mission to "develop the first world" is implemented by finding solutions to problems in Europe and the United States by sending them to their think tanks to analyze. Some themes include immigration, legal waiting zones, and racial profiling. Background The Ghana think tank was founded by Christopher Robbins, John Ewing and Matey Odonkor in 2006. They were later joined by Carmen Montoya in 2009. Fallen Fruit
Fallen Fruit is a Los Angeles based artists' collaboration composed of David Allen Burns and Austin Young. The project was originally conceived by David Allen Burns, Matias Viegener and Austin Young in 2004. Since 2013, David and Austin have continued the collaborative work installing public artworks and participating in exhibitions worldwide. Using photography and video as well as performance and installation art, Fallen Fruit's work focuses on urban space, neighborhood, located citizenship and community and their relationship to the public realm. Mitch Cope
Mitch Cope (born 1973) is an artist and art gallery curator from Detroit, Michigan. Cope works as an artist and curator in Detroit. In 2001 he co-founded the Tangent Gallery. Cope has been involved with the Shrinking Cities Project in Berlin, the Power From Nature project with artist Marjetica Potrc. He has exhibitioned his art throughout Detroit at venues such as Susanne Hilberry Gallery, and at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art and Subspace Gallery and the Kunsthaus Dresden in Germany. His collaborative art project "Detroit Tree of Heaven Woodshop" is permanently installed at the World Workers Museum in Steyr, Austria. Wu Tsang
Wu Tsang (born 1982 in Worcester, Massachusetts) is a filmmaker, artist and performer based in New York and Berlin, whose work is concerned with hidden histories, marginalized narratives, and the act of performing itself. In 2018, Tsang received a MacArthur Fellows Program, MacArthur "genius" grant. According to Tsang, her films, videos, and performances look to explore the "in-betweeness" in which people and ideas cannot be discussed in binary terms. Generally, her films form a hybrid of narrative and documentary; they do not conform fully to one form or the other. Anna Sew Hoy
Anna Sew Hoy (b. 1976, Auckland, New Zealand) is an American sculptor based in Los Angeles, California. She works primarily in clay, a medium she has been drawn to since high school. Sew Hoy’s works are abstract and blend found everyday items with uniquely crafted ceramic pieces to evoke a familiar yet uncanny response. Noting the performative aspect of working with clay, Sew Hoy has often engaged other artists to activate her sculptural installations through performance. Carrie Schneider (born 1979 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American visual artist who works in photography and film. Lorraine O'Grady
Lorraine O'Grady (born September 21, 1934) is an American artist, writer, translator, and critic. Working in conceptual art and performance art that integrates photo and video installation, she explores the cultural construction of identity – particularly that of Black female subjectivity – as shaped by the experience of diaspora and hybridity. O'Grady studied at Wellesley College and the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop before becoming an artist at age forty-five. Regarding the purpose of art, O'Grady said in 2016: "I think art’s first goal is to remind us that we are human, whatever ''that'' is.
