The Continental Basketball Association was a men's professional basketball league that existed from 1946 to 2009. The league was formerly known as the Eastern Pennsylvania Basketball League, the Eastern Professional Basketball League and the Eastern Basketball Association. Kenneth R. Battle (born October 10, 1964) is an American former professional basketball player. High school career In 1984, Battle led Aurora West High School to third place in the Illinois High School Association Class AA state basketball tournament. Battle led the tournament with 86 points in four games for third-place finisher Aurora West. In 2007, the Illinois High School Association named Battle one of the 100 Legends of the IHSA Boys Basketball Tournament. College career Battle played collegiately at Northern Illinois University from 1984–1986 before transferring to the University of Illinois. Kenneth Darnell Bannister (born April 1, 1960) is a retired American professional basketball player, from Baltimore, Maryland. At 6' 9" tall he was a power forward-center. College career Bannister played college basketball at Trinidad State Junior College, Indiana State University, and Saint Augustine's College. Gregory Ballard (January 29, 1955 – November 9, 2016) was an American professional basketball player and NBA assistant coach. A collegiate All-American at Oregon, Ballard averaged 12.4 points and 6.1 rebounds over an eleven season NBA career with the Washington Bullets, Golden State Warriors and briefly, the Seattle SuperSonics. Early life Born in Los Angeles to parents William Ballard and Annie Clark, Ballard had three brothers and four sisters. Anthony Avent (born October 18, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the first round (15th pick overall) of the 1991 NBA draft. Born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Avent played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic, Vancouver Grizzlies, Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers in six NBA seasons. He played collegiately at Seton Hall University where he played in the 1989 NCAA championship game. Prior to Seton Hall, Avent played at Malcolm X Shabazz High School in Newark, New Jersey. Kenneth Lavon "Chucky" Atkins (born August 14, 1974) is an American former professional basketball player who played for nine different NBA teams throughout his career. Basketball career Atkins played college basketball at the University of South Florida from 1992 to 1996. As of November 2020 he still owns three team records. He is a member of the USF Athletic Hall of Fame. Atkins was undrafted in the 1996 NBA draft. Clinton Wheeler (October 27, 1959 – February 14, 2019) was an American professional basketball player. He was a 6'1" (185 cm) 185 lb (84 kg) point guard and played collegiately at Division III's William Paterson University. In his brief NBA career from 1987 to 1989, he played for three teams. Life Wheeler played high school basketball at Long Branch High School in Long Branch, New Jersey. Robert Leroy Smith (born March 10, 1955) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. College career A 5'11" tall point guard, Smith played college basketball at UNLV, where as a member of the fabled "Hardway Eight", that was coached by the legendary Jerry Tarkanian, and that took UNLV to its first NCAA Final Four, in 1977. Derrick Rowland (born June 21, 1959) is a retired American professional basketball player who is the head coach of the Potawatomi Fire. He previously worked as the head coach of the Albany Patroons of The Basketball League (TBL). Born in Brookhaven, New York, during his playing career, he was a 6'5" tall, 195-pound shooting guard. Mauro Panaggio
Mauro Panaggio (January 19, 1928https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/188811201/mauro-panaggio – April 11, 2018) was an American basketball coach at the high school, college, and professional levels. He holds the record for the most coaching wins in the history of the Continental Basketball Association, and was named to the CBA's 50th Anniversary team as coach.
