Davy McDougall
David McDougall was a Scottish football player who played his club football for Partick Thistle and Rangers in Scotland, Bristol City in England, Distillery and Glentoran in Ireland and Cardiff City and Newport County in Wales. He joined Cardiff City as a player-manager in 1910, becoming the club's first manager in their history. He later went on to fulfil the same role at Newport County. Career McDougall began his career playing locally for Irvine Meadow. He signed for Rangers without making a first team appearance, instead spending the season at Partick Thistle, playing all 18 games in the Scottish League Division Two championship winning side of 1899–1900. Following this success, he was recalled by Rangers who then quickly sold him on to Southern League side Bristol City in the summer of 1900. Mike England
Harold Michael England (born 2 December 1941) is a Welsh former footballer and manager. Playing career Playing as a central defender, England began his career at Blackburn Rovers in 1959, before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in July 1966, ultimately winning four major trophies: the FA Cup in 1967, the UEFA Cup in 1972, and the League Cup in 1971 and 1973. He made 44 international appearances for Wales over twelve years, scoring 4 goals. He was the youngest ever Wales permanent captain for many years, until superseded by Aaron Ramsey in 2011. Management career He later managed the Wales national team from March 1980 to February 1988. Graham Kavanagh
Graham Anthony Kavanagh (born 2 December 1973) is an Irish football manager and former professional player. Kavanagh had a 19-year-long career and played for Middlesbrough, Stoke City, Cardiff City, Wigan Athletic, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday and Carlisle United. He also played 16 games for the Republic of Ireland national football team, scoring once. Club career Kavanagh began his career at Home Farm, before joining Middlesbrough in 1991 but struggled to ever hold down a first team place and was sold to Stoke City in 1996, after a short loan spell at the club, for £250,000. In 1996–97 he made 41 appearances scoring four goals including the final goal at the Victoria Ground against West Bromwich Albion. Kevin Nugent (footballer)
Kevin Patrick Nugent (born 10 April 1969) is an English professional football manager and former player. He is the manager of the Millwall U23 team. Playing career Nugent began his career at Leyton Orient in the 1980s and made over 100 appearances in all competitions for the club, spending time on loan at Cork City during the 1988–89 season. After finishing the 1991–92 season as the club's top scorer, he signed for Plymouth Argyle in March 1992 for a transfer fee of £200,000 and made over 100 appearances for Plymouth. In September 1995, he moved to Bristol City for a fee of £75,000, although first-team opportunities were more limited. Nugent signed for Cardiff City in June 1997 for a transfer fee of £65,000. Lee Jarman
Lee Jarman (born 16 December 1977) is a former Welsh footballer. Early life Born in Cardiff to Ian and Angela Jarman, he grew up in Llanishen and attended Coed Glas School as a child. Career A centre-half, he began his career at his hometown club Cardiff City. Having been involved with the club since the age of 10, he signed schoolboy terms at the age of fifteen and became a YTS player the following year. He made his professional debut during the 1995–96 season in a 3–2 win over Gillingham in the Football League Trophy at the age of 18, following an injury to Lee Baddeley. Dave Penney
David Mark Penney (born 17 August 1964) is an English football manager and former player. Born in Wakefield, West Riding of Yorkshire, Penney entered professional football at the relatively late age of 21. He had been working as a bricklayer and playing for nothing at Pontefract Collieries for 5 years before he was spotted by Derby County scout Ron Jukes, who recommended him to manager Arthur Cox. He was offered a contract at the then Third Division club and they climbed two divisions before he left for Oxford United for £175,000. He then went on to Wales, where he played for Swansea City and Cardiff City, latterly signing for Doncaster Rovers in 1998. He played as a midfielder. Managerial career In 2002 Penney retired to pursue a career in management and he remained at Doncaster, taking the managerial job on a full-time basis. Jason Perry (footballer)
Jason Perry (born 2 April 1970 in Caerphilly) is a Welsh former professional footballer and Wales international. A centre-half, he was highly regarded by supporters for his strong tackling and uncompromising style. He attained one cap for Wales in 1994. Club career Perry began his career at Cardiff City, making his debut in a 0–0 draw against Exeter City in March 1987, but it wasn't until the 1989–90 season that he managed to force his way into a regular first team place and helped the club to win promotion to Division Two in 1993. Perry hardly missed a game for the club up until the 1995–96 season when he suffered a number of injuries that kept him out of the side for most of the year. Football League Third Division
The Football League Third Division was the third tier of the English football league system in 1920–21 and again from 1958 until 1992. When the FA Premier League was formed, the division become the fourth tier level. In 2004, following the formation of the Football League Championship, the division was renamed Football League Two. Founder clubs of the Third Division (1920) Most of these clubs were drawn from what was then the top division of the 1919–20 Southern Football League, in an expansion of the Football League south of Birmingham. Paul Ramsey (footballer)
Paul Christopher Ramsey (born 3 September 1962 in Derry, Northern Ireland) is a former professional footballer and Northern Ireland international who played in a defensive midfield role. He featured for Northern Ireland in the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Career Ramsey, who measured 5' 10" in height, began his playing career at Derry City F.C. He later went on to play for Leicester City and made 14 international appearances for Northern Ireland between 1983 and 1989, as well as being chosen for the country's 1986 World Cup squad. In his younger days, he had won 4 schoolboy caps. Ramsey moved to Cardiff City in August 1991, where he was appointed captain. Roger Gibbins
Roger Graeme Gibbins (born 6 September 1955) is an English former professional footballer. He represented England at Schools level. Career Having represented Enfield, Middlesex and London at schools level, Gibbins began his career as an apprentice with Tottenham Hotspur, where his father Eddie had played in the early 1950s. Joining the club at the age of thirteen, he scored the winning goal for the club in the 1974 FA Youth Cup final against Huddersfield Town. He turned professional in December 1972. He spent a further two and a half seasons at White Hart Lane, but left in August 1975, to join Oxford United, without making his league debut. He stayed at the Manor Ground for only one season, before joining First Division Norwich City on a free transfer in June 1976. Terence David John Boyle (born 29 October 1958) is a Welsh former professional footballer. During his career, he made over 500 appearances in the Football League and made two appearances for the Wales national team in 1981. A centre-half, he was highly regarded by supporters for his strong tackling and uncompromising style. Jake King (born 29 January 1955) is a Scottish football manager and former professional player. Career Playing career King, who played as a full back, began as an apprentice with Shrewsbury Town, before making his professional debut in 1971. King made a total of 306 appearances in the Football League for Shrewsbury, scoring 20 goals, before leaving in 1982 to join Wrexham. At Wrexham, King made 92 League appearances, scoring 5 goals. On 3 October 1984, away to FC Porto in the first round of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, he scored twice in the first half of a 4–3 away defeat as Wrexham beat the Portuguese on the away goals rule.
