Currently published by the music industry magazine ''Billboard'', the chart is formulated based on electronically monitored airplay data compiled by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. from a panel of 32 stations. It was introduced in January 1996 as a feature in ''Radio & Records'' magazine, which was later purchased by ''Billboard'' parent company Nielsen. ''Billboard'' appropriated the ''Radio & Records'' adult alternative chart in July 2008 and became its sole publisher after ''Radio & Records'' ceased publication in June 2009. The first number-one single of the 2010s on the Adult Alternative Songs chart was "Chasing Pirates" by American recording artist Norah Jones, which spent six weeks at the top spot from December 2009 to January 2010. Adult Alternative Airplay (also known as Triple A or Triple A Airplay, and formerly Adult Alternative Songs and Triple A Songs) is a record chart currently published by ''Billboard'' that ranks the most popular songs on adult album alternative radio stations. The 40-position chart is formulated based on each song's weekly radio spins, as measured by Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems. The earliest incarnation of the chart was first published on January 20, 1996, as a feature in ''Billboard'' sister publication ''Airplay Monitor''. In 2006, ''Airplay Monitor'' ceased publication after ''Billboard'' parent company VNU Media's acquisition of rival radio trade magazine ''Radio & Records'', which then subsequently incorporated ''Airplay Monitor''s Nielsen-based Triple A chart. ''Billboard'' itself began publishing the Triple A chart in the issue dated July 5, 2008 through their Billboard.biz website, appropriating the same airplay data as ''Radio & Records''. Kristian Leontiou (born February 1982) is an English singer. Formerly a solo artist, he is the lead singer of indie rock band One eskimO. Early life Kristian Leontiou was born in London, England and is of Greek Cypriot descent. He went to Hatch End High School in Harrow and worked several jobs in and around London whilst concentrating on music when he had any free time. In 2003 he signed a major record deal with Polydor. At the time, Leontiou was dubbed "the new Dido" by some media outlets. His debut single " Story of My Life" was released in June 2004 and reached #9 in the UK Singles Chart.
