The ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Songs is a record chart in the United States for Latin singles, published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine since September 6, 1986. The chart's methodology was only based on airplay from Spanish-language radio stations from its inception until the issue dated October 13, 2012, when ''Billboard'' updated its methodology to a multi-metric system, including sales of digital downloads and streaming activity in addition to airplay, as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan. As of November 2021, the chart has had 446 different number-one hits, while 178 artists have reached number one as a lead or a featured act. Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias has the most number-one hit singles, with 27, as well as the most cumulative weeks at number one, with 189. José Álvaro Osorio Balvín (born 7 May 1985), known professionally as J Balvin, is a Colombian singer and songwriter. He has been referred to as the " Prince of Reggaeton" (from Spanish: "Príncipe del Reggaetón"), and is one of the best-selling Latin artists, with over 35 million records. Marco Antonio Solís Sosa (born 29 December 1959) is a Mexican musician, singer, composer, and record producer. Born and raised in Ario de Rosales, Michoacán, Solís began his musical career at the age of six, performing part of Los Hermanitos Solís. In 1975 he co-founded Los Bukis, of which he was the lead vocalist and guitarist. The band split up after nearly two decades of success, with Solís pursuing a solo career. Son by Four is a latin music group from Puerto Rico, well known for their English U.S. pop hit " The Purest of Pain (A Puro Dolor)". The group is now independent, as they founded their own label SB4 Music Group in 2003. Son by Four was created by Panamanian producer and songwriter Omar Alfanno and their members Ángel López, Pedro Quiles, and brothers Javier Montes and Jorge Montes.
