A television presenter (or television host, some become a "television personality") is a person who introduces, hosts television show, television programs, often serving as a mediator for the program and the audience. Nowadays, it is common for people who garnered fame in other fields to take on this role, but some people have made their name solely within the field of presenting—such as children's television series or infomercials—to become television personalities. Deborah Knight
Deborah Knight (born 23 November 1972) is an Australian television and news presenter, radio host, and journalist. Knight is currently a radio presenter on 2GB and host of ''A Current Affair'' on Friday and Saturday. Previously she has been a co-host of the Nine Network's breakfast program ''Today'' and presented ''Nine News Sydney'' on Friday and Saturday. Career Knight studied at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, New South Wales, where she earned a degree in journalism, graduating in 1993. She began her career in the media working for the radio station 2WG in Wagga Wagga and then moved to Mix 106.5 in Sydney before accepting a position with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Samantha Armytage
Samantha Armytage (born 4 September 1976) is an Australian journalist and television presenter. Armytage was previously co-host of the Seven Network's breakfast television program ''Sunrise'' from 2013 to 2021 alongside David Koch. She also previously co-hosted ''Weekend Sunrise'' and presented '' Seven's 4.30 News''. Early life Armytage was born to Mac and Elizabeth Armytage. She grew up on Bolaro Station, a sheep property near Adaminaby in New South Wales, where her father was the station manager. Armytage is a direct descendant of George Armytage, a pioneer British settler in Australia who was involved in an attack on local Aboriginal people. She has a younger brother, Charlie. She attended boarding school at Kincoppal-Rose Bay in Sydney starting from Year Nine and then studied at Charles Sturt University. Angie Asimus (born 12 August 1985) is a news presenter and journalist. Asimus is currently a weather presenter on '' Seven News Sydney'' and presents '' Seven News at 5.'' Career Asimus was originally from Gundagai (in rural New South Wales) before moving to Sydney to study Media Communications at the University of Sydney. She received a Graduate Certificate in Climate Adaptation in 2012 from the University of Southern Queensland. Asimus started her career as a journalist in 2008 with Seven Queensland working at their Townsville newsroom. In 2010, she was moved to Seven's Brisbane Newsroom initially as the court reporter. The Seven Network (commonly known as Channel Seven or simply Seven) is a major Australian commercial free-to-air Television broadcasting in Australia, television network. It is owned by Seven West Media, Seven West Media Limited, and is one of five main free-to-air television networks in Australia. The network's headquarters are located in Sydney. Richard Stephen Wilkins (born 19 June 1954) is an Australian television and radio presenter. He is the entertainment editor for the Nine Network, co-host of ''Weekend Today'' and weekend announcer on smoothfm, and master of ceremonies. Biography Early life, music and management Wilkins was born in New Zealand on 19 June 1954, where he graduated from teachers' college, majoring in English and music. Using the name "Richard Wilde" he became an aspiring pop singer. PolyGram signed him to a worldwide deal. In 1980, he brought his band ''Wilde And Reckless'' to Australia. Karl Stefanovic ( sr-Cyrl, Карл Стефановић; born 12 August 1974), also spelt Karl Stefanović, is an Australian television presenter and journalist for the Nine Network. Stefanovic is currently a co-host of the Nine Network's breakfast program ''Today'' and presents for ''60 Minutes''. Career Early life Stefanovic studied journalism at university, but after earning his degree could not secure a cadetship. Amber Simone Sherlock (née Higlett) is an Australian journalist, television news presenter and reporter. She currently presents the weather on ''Nine News Sydney'' and previously hosted the daily national one hour news bulletin ''Nine News Now''. Bruce Paige
Bruce Paige (born 10 November 1948) is a former newsreader in Brisbane, Australia. He previously presented '' Nine Gold Coast News'' alongside Eva Milic. He previously co-presented ''Nine News Queensland'' alongside Melissa Downes, having paired with Jillian Whiting and Heather Foord in the past. Career First coming to prominence on television reading the ABC bulletin, Paige's career at the station began in January 1971, before he moved to Channel Nine in 1985. Peter John Overton, (born 5 April 1966) is an Australian television journalist and news presenter. He is currently the presenter for Nine News Sydney from Sunday to Thursday at 6 pm. Early life and family Born in England, Overton moved to Australia at age two after his parents returned home to the country. He grew up in Longueville, a suburb on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. He went to Lane Cove Public School and North Sydney Boys High School. He graduated with a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University. He also played the tuba whilst at Lane Cove Public School.
