Australian Rules Football
Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. There are rules on how the ball can be handled; for example, players running with the ball must intermittently bounce or touch it on the ground. Throwing the ball is not allowed, and players must not get caught holding the ball. ''AFL Premiership 2007'' is a sports simulation game for the PlayStation 2 based on the Australian Football League. It is a follow up game to AFL Premiership 2006. It was developed by game developer, IR Gurus and published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. It is the final game in the series to be developed by IR Gurus. The game was released, only in Australia, on 28 June 2007. Gameplay Single match is the quickest way to play a game. On the single match summary screen you can set your favourite team and then randomise the other settings. Such as, home and away teams, stadium, weather, and rules (pre-season or home and away season rules). Mission Mode allows you to take up the challenge and feel the pressure with these historical matches. ''AFL Live 2'' is a sports game in the AFL series of Australian rules football video games. It was developed by Wicked Witch Software and was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 12 September 2013. The game was ported to iOS and was released on 28 May 2015 and Android on 26 September 2015. Commentary is provided by Dennis Cometti and Tom Harley. Gameplay New features added to AFL Live 2 include, a 15-year career mode, fending off, shepherding and a detailed control over players and on-field maneuvering. There are over 60 teams from TAC Cup, VFL, AFL, and various bonus teams. ''AFL'' (usually referred to as ''AFL Wii'') is an AFL sports game for the Wii. It was developed by Wicked Witch Software. It was released on 19 May 2011. Commentating is provided by Dennis Cometti and Brian Taylor. Game features *16 stadiums *5 different leagues (AFL, VFL, TAC Cup, NAB U18's National Championships, International Cup). *Over 70 licensed teams *Arcade style gameplay *29 player attributes *10 year career management mode. *5 mini games. Gameplay Team management appears to focus on coaching, training, trading, drafting, tribunal and budget, while the in game gameplay, covers the actual game of the sport itself. The game has more arcade elements then the Big Ant Studios version, but claims to still maintain a fair amount of simulation and options to set the level of this. AFL Challenge
''AFL Challenge'' is a sports game for the PlayStation Portable, based on the Australian Football League, AFL. The game was developed by Australian games developer Wicked Witch Software, and was published by Tru Blu Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment. The games fixture is based on the 2009 AFL season and features all official AFL teams and a pre-determined best 22 players for each team, whose positions cannot be changed. Gameplay AFL Challenge allows players to play through the entire season, through to the Grand Final. It features a team management system where players can be trained up in skills such as kicking, tackling and running.
